Review: Dutch disco duo HP Vince and Dave Leatherman have previously plied their trade - successfully, we should add - on Springbokz, Solid State Disco and Disco's Revenge. They've been rewarded with a release on high profile imprint Chopshop. They're joined by the previously unheard Pompenburg, who helps them turn in two versions of "Flowtation", which appears to be a cover version of Herb Alpert's Balearic disco classic "Rotation". Their interpretation boasts pumping house drums and a seriously chunky bassline, but also dreamy chords, jazzy Rhodes licks and, naturally, some mazy, Alpert-style trumpet. The accompanying nu-disco mix, which pushes the duo's electronic elements to the fore, is also rather good, though lacks some of the loveable warmth of the original version.
