Review: Well straight from the off, looking at the combination of artistry involved in this one we knew we were in for a good time as Shniece Mcmenamin links up with the legendary Prince Fatty on Evergreen Recordings for a special dub version of 'The Model'. It's a seriously nostalgic piece, employing an array of classic, traditional dubwise manoeuvres with chord progressions delaying left right and centre, a top of bed of unpredictable drum riffs and the occasional taster of Shniece's angelic vocal presence. If you want a look at dub music in it's finest modern form, look no further!
Review: Recently, two "like-minded musical explorers" joined forces to "illuminate the shared roots and spirit of rebellion at the heart of dub and jazz". These two aforementioned troubadours, Prince Fatty (Hollie Cook) and Nostalgia 77, ended up getting some serious attention for the record, In The Kingdom Of Dub, too. Two standout LP tracks, "Medicine Chest" and "Skeletons", both now get a (dubbed out) release in their own right here on this digital double A-side.
