Review: The title here, for those that didn't pay attention in French lessons at school, means "rediscovered B-sides" - and that's exactly what you get, as Mark's Music reissue three lesser-known tracks culled from the Manchester-based hiphop/triphop/downtempo specialists' extensive back catalogue. 'Premonition', which originally backed 1999's 'All I Ask', is a lilting but deceptively energetic affair with rolling drums, 'The Bacalau', from 1998's 'The Hush' EP, is a filmic, lounge-y instrumental with barely discernible ska overtones, while 'Time To Shine' (once the B-side to 1999's 'Swansong') treads what is, for the duo, a more typical lo-fi hiphop/big beat path.

Review: With some of the tracks here first released on vinyl some eight years ago, Mark Rae & Steve Christian are probably best known for their work for the Night Time Stories & Late Night Tales compilations. Breathing new life into a set of works borne through some deep meditations in a Buddhist monastery, the original track here comes packed with a Ray Mang & Bill Brewster remix as Mang Dynasty. For this mix they focus on Gita Langley's backing vocal hooks while adding a chorus piano motif to stretch things out into an epic nine minute dancefloor gem. Backed up by a dubbed out and stripped back Fernando mix, The Reflex takes it for a upbeat ride in its remake too - bringing back that 2010s inner-city London disco vibe!

Review: Nocturnal Activity was released by Mark Rae on Manchester's Grand Central Records, an independent record label back in 2002. It is a remix album, composed of alternative mixes of the tracks from the Sleepwalking LP, plus one new track, a cover version of the Parliament track "Flashlight". It contains some of the labels most sought after tracks. For the dancefloor, The Nextmen remix of "It Aint Nothin Like" is considered a classic. Atjazz turns in a magical remix with Kate Rogers on "Not Just Anybody". Groove Armada went on a weekend break to a country house to flip the Pharcyde's Booty Brown on "Let It Go". However the best is left to last with the fully acoustic version of "Get A Life" with soul legend Bobby Womack.

Review: Given that Rae & Christian's collaboration with London mic man Jake Emlyn first surfaced on their Mercury Rising album back in 2013, it seems a little curious that Late Night Tales has decided to release it as a single. This is not a criticism, though, as the quality of the remixes is impressively high. Ray Mang weighs in with three excellent disco versions - an expansive, soaring, festival-friendly vocal mix, an accompanying instrumental, and a superb 'Beats' version, which turns the track into a Konk style, Latin influenced drum workout - while former Silver City man Fernando drops two bubbly nu-disco interpretations full of his usual colourful synths and rubbery bass. Best of all, though, is the Reflex Remix, a fuzzy disco-funk stomper that's nothing less than an invitation to drop all inhibitions and lose your self in the dance.

Review: They might have been creating their own brand of funk-inspired downtempo electronics since the tail end of the 90s but for this release for Night Time Stories (a clever little sub-label from the people who brought us the unalloyed joys of the Late Night Tales series) tells a very different story. Featuring sunkissed remixes of the pair's recent single 1975 from Bearcub, Drew Hill and Moodymanc, this is one mellow mutha. Amazing what a fresh perspective can do for a single.

Review: Their first material in over 10 years, Mercury Prize nominated duo Rae & Christian need very little introduction. Adding to the UK beat movement with similar weight to that of Tricky or Massive Attack, their ability to forge big grooves into actual songs is near-on matchless. And it's clear they still haven't lost this touch between them. Ranging from swaggering b-boy guitar drama ("Check The Technique") to the heady, driving folk of the Beta Band/Gruff Rhys-esque "1975" via the soul-jazz breakbeat fusion of "Dancer", they leave no stone unturned. And, crucially, they do it with a strong sense of playfulness and consistency. Let's hope they don't leave it another decade for a follow-up.

Review: 10 years on from its initial release, Groove Armada's contribution to the Anotherlatenight series gets a new lease of life. For those searching for deep, downtempo and vaguely Balearic fare, it's well worth a look. While Groove Armada's mix is enjoyable enough, it's the unmixed tracks that are most worthy of attention. Amongst the familiar classics (Kleer's boogie classic "Tonight", Mr Fingers' "Can You Feel It" and Metro Area's "Muira"), you'll find hot curiosities from the likes of Shuggie Otis (the decidedly acid-fried "Strawberry Letter 23"), Loose Ends ("Feel The Vibe"), Good Together (forgotten super-deep house jam "Work It Out") and Don Ray (the heady disco grooves of "Standing In The Rain").
