Review: Step out, bounce out, 'Walkout'... No matter how you approach this EP, it's massive from every perspective. Two masters, new-gen and OG, Exile and Mark XTC get busy over three cuts and invite some equally esteemed mic men in the process. 'Walkout' is an instant Flinty and Deman sing-along with full vibes from the dark funk rolling groove. 'Stay Out The Way' gets even springier with its tightly coiled groove and sporadic spits from Deefa while 'Vibe Feeling' completes this trio of treats on an emotional, left-of-centre trip that's just the right balance of melancholy and muscle. Sort it out.
Review: Rumble's in the jungle. Ragga Twins are too. And it's an all-out love-in as the MCs celebrate the girls with this new Liondub International remix package. Toby Ross brings the jungle attitude, all rattling breaks and big bassline energy while Exile takes things in more of a dancefloor direction with a ridiculous swagger and big brash bass licks between the stomping kicks. Complete with original mixes, this is a big look for the summer festivals.
Review: London jungle heroes Ragga Twins need no introduction, yet they still infuse every new release with the manic urgency of a newbie eager to introduce themselves to the world. Latest missive "Vigilante" is no different, being a hyped-up slice of hardcore beats and futuristic digital bleeps. There's a whole bunch of killer remixes too, with Serial Killaz marrying dancehall and DnB craziness, Trufix getting deep and moody and Martron opting for some more melodic pop-reggae vibes.
