Sound Synthesis - "Necessary Order" - (6:04) 68 BPM
Roger Van Lunteren - "Le Dee Trois Trio Prends Trois" - (4:16) 120 BPM
Review: If you're looking for deep, emotive and melodious electronic music, Placid's We're Going Deep label has you covered. The Bristol-based imprint's latest multi-artist extravaganza is naturally another doozy, with four killer cuts to enjoy. Acid Test regular Tin Man kicks things off with 'I Said Acid', a TB-303 powered chunk of muscular, analogue acid house with a notably moody bassline, before Rai Scott delivers the ultra-deep, woozy, slow house classic-in-waiting that is 'I'll Meet You On The Dancefloor'. Spacey pads, psychedelic acid lines, immersive ambient chords and punchy electro beats are the order of the day on Sound Synthesis's 'Necessary Order', while Roger Van Lunteren's 'Le Dee Trois Trio Prends Trois' is am impressively druggy, squelchy and mind-mangling trip into deep acid house.

Tribal Roots EP
Owen Jay & Melchior Sultana - "Tribal Roots" (feat Antoine) - (5:57) 120 BPM
1Dan - "Recovery Process" - (6:33) 119 BPM
Rai Scott - "Depth Of The Ocean" - (6:54) 120 BPM
Review: The split release focus of Batti Batti has served it well so far, so it's little surprise to find the label's first of the year, Tribal Roots, draws for cuts from four different production units. Jay opens proceedings with his fellow Maltese producer Melchior Sultana whose "Tribal Roots" is augmented well by the percussive talents of Antoine. Further Batti Batti treats come from label regulars 1Dan and Marco Negra, whilst Rai Scott makes her bow with the suitably titled "Depth Of The Ocean" which might just be the pick of the four here!

We Love You - (6:04) 128 BPM
Keep On - (7:05) 122 BPM
Cats & Water - (6:05) 126 BPM
Sky In The Clouds - (6:13) 124 BPM Hot
Review: With this new four-track EP by Rai Scott the slowly emerging producer moves away from being the enigma that appeared on a split 12" with Brad Peterson, which launched the Inner Shift imprint in 2012. And by the sounds of this EP, she's someone to be noticed. "We Love You" certainly earns its place as the release's lead track; it's a sweet and meaningful piece of deep house. "Keep On" is a dubbed out, bassline-driven tribal journey of drums, whose low-end rhythm is completed by emotional chords that eventually take over, while "Cats and Water" is on a funky, stripped-back and loopy '90s techno tip. For some ambient fun that then turns house, "Sky In The Clouds" is a perfect closer. An exciting producer house communities worldwide should be talking about in the second half of this year.
