Review: Two tracks in five very different mixes make up this new collaborative EP from Portugal's Vitor Silveira, AKA Ramboiage, and fellow Lisbon native C4STRO. 'I Need You', in its Original form, marries tribalistic percussion, soulful male vocal wails and crisp handclaps to organs that parp and parp and parp some more, before Pete Herbert drops the tempo on a remix that's laced heavily with 80s synth sounds. 'Do It Like That' also gets a brace of quite radical makeovers: the Original is all rolling beats, walking b-line and hands-in-the-air pianos, but Gus Paterson's 'Shake' and 'Warm' remixes again break out the 80s-sounding synths.

Review: C4STRO, Klai, Martim Tonic & Lou de Melo launched their Oasis Music label a few months ago via a three-track, multi-artist missive. For release number two, they've repeated the exercise, with two rising stars joining C4STRO on the EP. His cut, 'Got 2 Feet', is a gradually growing deep house loop jam in which spacey sounding synth motifs, echoing melodic motifs and raw, weighty electronic bass wrap round a rolling, disco-tinged house groove. Ramboiage continues the hypnotic loop-jam theme on thickest, bass-heavy stomper 'Rebaldaria', while British producer VRRS reaches for the filters on glistening, seriously summery disco-house cut 'Dancing in the Groove'.

Review: Kat Lisbon resident DJ Vitor Silvera has notched up releases on all manner of labels since debuting 12 years ago, most notably Get Physical Music, Piston Recordings, Love Monk, Scucci Manucci and, most recently, RF Digital Factory. Here he returns to that imprint with another trio of quietly impressive deep house cuts. He begins in confident mood with 'Arrifana', a hybrid nu-disco/proto-deep house number blessed with heery synth melodies, bubbly bass and addictive keyboard stabs, before opting for a more tactile, hypnotic and cowbell-laden sound on the equally impressive deep house number 'Baleal'. Best of all, though, is closing cut 'Cordoama', a synth strings-smothered slab of deep house/nu-disco fusion that's as joyful as they come.

Review: The latest EP on Alkalino's Audaz label comes from Ramboiage (AKA Lux Fragil club resident Vitor Silveira), a fellow Portuguese who has previously released on Sccucci Manucci and Love Monk. Like Alkalino, Ramboiage makes warm, comfortable deep house influenced by disco, as the rolling electronics and classic grooves of opener "Kill Your Darlings" proves. Better still is "It's True", a hazy chunk of Balearic deep house that evokes memories of classic productions from the likes of 808 State and Sueno Latino. Finally, "Needs" is a classic chunk of bumpin' late night deepness, with minor key chords and wobbly vocal samples combining to create a tipsy, glassy-eyed vibe.

Review: When the man with one of the best artists names ever releases an EP called "Moustache" (on the month of Movember), you'd be churlish not to pay attention. As with previous outings, the Portuguese producer has repped all sides: jazzed out deep house ("Venice"), late '90s feel-good trance-tinged positivity ("The Todd Dance"), loose percussive butt-shifting funk ("Zajj") and slinky, horn-heaved late night strutting ("Jazz In A Moustache"). Each cut tickling the sweet spot of the sub genre it should be filed under, Ramboiage's understanding and passion for all forms of house music is abundantly evident. Twist those whiskers!

Review: Brand spanking new label Sccucci Manucci launches with this offering containing cuts from four different but equally pleasing sources. Those of you who hang out at the crossroads where disco meets house will no doubt already be keenly aware of the stylings of Aussie pup Francis Inferno Orchestra, and here he turns in piano-driven stomper "Horizon Beat". No less euphoric is "Scare The Night" by Jonno & Tommo - alas not a production duo from Far North Queensland but the considerably less tropical climes of London - who drop an oven warm slow-mo jam that brings to mind I:Cube's epic "Falling". Up next, Scott Featherstone & Tino TCB, with "Circles" guaranteed to raise a smile from the more discerning corners of the dancefloor. Portuguese newcomer Ramboiage rounds off the release, dropping some Cottam-esque heavy thud house on "Pretty Baby".

Review: Dynamicron's Latino-centric nu-disco label Los Grandes, deliver their fourth long-playing comp, gathering the best re-edits they can find. The label boss himself delivers the first of 20 tracks, "She", which sounds like a very subtle edit of an undetermined, but luscious and silky sheeted, Bee Gees track. Elsewhere Brendon P's "Before You Go Away" evokes The Avalanches, Panorama's "Straight From The Heart" is pure cut mid 80s digital soul and on the same tip, Dennis Edwards is edited further by Teniente Castillo on "Don't Dub Any Further". William Devaughn's "Be Thankful" is beautifully teased out by Kompleks before things end with "Shameless Hotel", a crazy take on The Eagles by the Irregular Disco Workers.
