Review: This VA is jam-packed with some of the scene's best liquid maestros, and it's of the movement for Liquid Drum & Bass 4 Autism, a group which seeks to raise awareness and money for those who have autism. Low:r, Furney, MsDos and more have gotten themselves involved, and the result is a lovely, serene walk through some of 174's most nonchalant moments. 'Eyes Closed' by Low:r is especially gorgeous, with his trademark organic sound fluttering in the wind of his creativity like usual. Changer is characteristically deep with 'Only To Be', and it's just the iceberg of what is a brilliant album for a brilliant cause.

Review: The fourth instalment in this year's Intrigue Music album is here and it features some of the best in the game. These albums always combine liquid sultriness with a harder edge, and if you like your old school rollers with a balance of light, dark, fast and furious, this EP will certainly be for you. Random Movement is one those present and boy, he's nailed this one. In his own usual style, "Paw Prints' is delightfully earthy with a synthy vibe that still feels organic and natural, topped off with a lovely vocal sample that just ripples out over the tune. Joakuim comes in with the other highlights, a calibre-esque hypnotic combination of rising synths and sweeping pads. Gorgeous stuff.

Review: Celsius is one of the most beloved liquid labels in the scene, a stalwart of many years which has released music from virtually every name around. Quite a few of those are represented on thus album, including Bcee & Saxxon, Blu Mar Ten and Rene LaVice, all of whom are on top form here. Bcee & Saxxon's remix of 'Always Dancing' by Random Movement is brilliant, a deftly put together jungle stepper that's full of liquid vibes and vibrant, fluttering synth lines. 'Rooftop Romance' by Flaco & Calculon is our other favourite, a soulful, rolling number that has a wicked vocal sample and beautifully punchy drums. Yes boys!

Review: Soul Trader are laying the groundwork for their forthcoming Year Of Soul Vol. 2 LP with this sampler, a four-tracker which hints at what is to come. Whilst Soul Trader is usually a liquid label, this EP is dark as can be, courtesy of Gerra & Stone, Data 3 and Pola & Bryson. The first of those s on remix duty for the second with 'Molly' and they've flipped it into a stretched-out display of darkness and power. Pola & Bryson have accomplished something similar with their remix of Silence Groove's 'Cheeky Growley', flipping the original into complex blend of bass notes and sharp hi-hat points. Top release, we can't wait for the full LP.

Review: One of the most iconic and prolific labels in the D&B scene, Fokuz Recordings manage to simultaneously show off the best in the game whilst supporting new talent and the results are fantastic. This album - a recap of 2018 - exemplifies their approach. It's full of big names and bigger tracks, including S.P.Y's remix of 'Always Yours' by Macca & Loz Contreras, Artificial Intelligence's remix of 'String City' by Lenzman and Calibre's remix of 'Forward Thinking' by Satl. Whilst these are obviously great, the bigger story lies in the lesser-known participants and their ability to pull at your heartstrings. DJ Ransome, Edlan, Soligen amongst others all come seriously correct on this LP, turning it into a seriously good release.

Instantly charming from the moment Lenzman's remix of Calculon & Dave Owen's "Ben Carlos" shimmies its way into the mix. Review: A time for reflection: Total Science closes down their 20th year of C.I.A case files with another precision reflection over past conquests and gully accomplishments from their collection of labels. Ranging from one of Calibre's first ever cuts (the raffish, wonderfully unkempt "Tempo Dub") and Bad Company's stupendous grime-funk twist on "Champion Sound" to Break's 2012 gritty slapper "Rare Earth" and Digital's life-changing, amen-smashing bassline slammer "No Reality", Spinback and Quiff have dug deep through the ages for some absolute gold here.

Review: It's a Florida funk-off at Innerground HQ this month as Marky invites Sunshine State royalty for a two-track treat. Jaybee continues his rich vein of form with one of his hookiest jams to date; jazzy keys, dubby reverbs and precision breaks create the perfect bed for a velvet soul vocal. Random Movement follows with a similarly touching jam. A tight weave of dreamy instrumentation woozily waves across the mix as stern bass tones stretch sporadically, giving the sensuous floating textures real gravitas. In other words, this is dope.

Review: Most labels celebrate their 50th or 100th release but Fokuz have never done things by convention, which is what's made them such a unique success story in drum & bass for 17 years. Here we find them celebrating their 80th release (and neatly referencing the work of Quentin Tarantino) with their biggest project to date that stretches two albums, over 30 tracks and some of the biggest names in D&B: Break, Calibre, Technimatic, BCee, Need For Mirrors, the list goes on. If you know Fokuz's output you'll already be on this. If you don't, just jump on the velvet sub rolls of Calibre's remix of Impish, Lenzman's hurricane soul twist of Random Movement or Dreazz & Stal's percussive frenzy "Ethiopian Jungle" and you'll know exactly what's going on right here.

Review: Intrigue founder Ben Soundscape lays down two blissful rollers in the form of a collaboration and a remix. "Dreaming" sees him joining forces with the inimitable Random Movement where the two try and out-soul each other their groove elasticity and sense of pace and restraint. "Waiting For You" sees Ben remixing Isola Dusk's 2013 future bass roller into a 2016 slippery D&B roller with warm pads, humming bass and light, brushed drums. Genuinely beautiful.
