Review: Cripes! Top Billin' doesn't seem to even stop for Christmas! This latest is a compilation of their best releases from 2012, and considering their pretty hefty back catalogue, they had their work cut out for them. Boasting a whopping 25 tracks, the album's highlights include the Tropical campery of "Phil So Real", the glorious "Always Got My Back", the Future bass exoticism of "I Told Ya", the sparse and dreamy drum machine and soft pad heaven of "Find Your Love", the sci-fi ghetto beats of "Work It", the badass old skool house of "House Girl" and "Motion Elements (Snuff Crew remix)" and the blissed out Italo-disco ish "Shake Sitten (Kush Arora remix)".

Review: San Francisco's Hot n Heavy Recordings mark their third birthday with a new action packed compilation, released on the symbolic date of 12/12/12. Featuring 14 fresh cuts spanning future bass, deep house and leftfield garage. Highlights include the tropical melancholia of Laney's "You Need To", the menacing minimal vibes of "Hairdresser" by Allmostt, the sparse, abstract garage of HxDB's "Spectator" and the slammin' raw, retro house of "Darlin" by D3adl1ne.

Review: With releases on Hot N Heavy and Senseless under his belt, as well as heavy support from bass-monsters like Crookers, Canblaster, Mumdance and AC Slater, San Francisco-based producer Reilly Martin makes a startling debut on Top Billin'. Deep, Joy Orbison-like textures (as on "Risin") are matched by energetic yet breezy clubsteppers like the Snoop-sampling "Work It" and the fiendish Detroit via Dirty South banger "Oh So Nice". A perfect fit on Top Billin's superb roster of mind-expanding bass producers.

Review: Pooling the best of San Francisco's 2-step, future garage and bass scene, Hot N Heavy's third volume in this series is a top source of some seriously impressive, upcoming talent. Kasio's opening "Back To The Garage" is straight-up stunning, with incredibly deep oceanic pads filtered down magnificently to a drop of crunchy and twitchy drums. Similarly, Red Army, Reilly Steel, Commodore 69 and Ground Control all prove more than a match for British kindred spirits like Joy O, Pearson Sound and the Night Slugs crew.
