Review: House DJs MYNC offer an exhaustive overview of the tracks that rocked the long-running White Island venue this summer. In the soulful corner, there's the Maxi Soundsystem take on Boris Dlugosch's "Look Around You". Featuring Roisin Murphy on vocals, it does a lot to sweep away the rainy autumn blues. Ten Walls deliver the trancey goods in the shape of "Gotham", which revolves around a belching bassline, but the most notable aspect of Ibiza 2013 is the way minimal producers have come into the house fold. Review: Original house prankster Riva Starr returns on Adam Beyer's Truesoul - the label is almost like a second home to the Snatch! head honcho these days, we think. His new main room stomper "Always" sees the London based Italian pursue a more melancholic and bittersweet sound to tremendous effect - and all the more worthwhile because of vocal contributions by the one and only Jocelyn Brown! Her unmistakable voice makes the track even more life affirming. Elsewhere, the cheeky and funked-up disco loops that you've come to know and love from the man are ever present on the infectious "Disco Loco" and heads down moments on the dancefloor are surely catered to courtesy of the backroom dub of "Give Me Love Dub".

Review: Forgive us for saying, but this is an odd meeting in every aspect - Swedish tech house legend Tiger Stripes teaming up with Italian house hooligan Riva Starr, on Adam Beyer's Truesoul? We know what you're thinking but trust us it works, it really does! The dusty and tough rolling sounds of Starr's revered Snatch! and Brock Wild imprints are all over "Sound Of The Bettest" with its booming 808 bounce, junglist breaks and cheeky ragga samples. Perhaps "Move It" is where Tiger Stripes' more hi-tech sheen shines through - indeed it does, but backed again by Starr's swing fuelled and MPC styled aesthetic. Surefire tools for peak time destruction on the dancefloor guaranteed.

Review: Italy's Riva Starr - master of electro - crash lands on Nic Fanciulli's Saved imprint with a bunch of dirty house edits for tool or listening use. Tech house loops and ingenious vocal chops characterise the shape of the EP and Mr. Starr lays his hands on four tracks. The choice cuts being his edit of Luca Morris' s"Play By Play" and Rino Cerrone and Flavio Diaz's "Extraordinary Wiring", two firmly shaped grooves with fiery percussion knots and seductive low-end swells. Effective and utterly deadly on the floor.

Review: Italy's Riva Starr's starry ascent has involved labels like Skint, Southern Fried and Hot Creations. Here he is with a new jam, Is It True EP, on Moon Harbour and it's clear to hear that the bigger he gets, the more finely honed his productions become. There are two tracks featured: the title track being relentlessly looped funky house with rolling subs and distant vocal snippets. "Akitune", meanwhile, is a livelier tech-house affair - all bouncy bass and sharp hi-hats. Also included is a cheeky little "DJ tool" version of the latter - perfect for weaving into all kinds of sets.
