Review: Founded by DJ Hybrid, one of the hardest working men in the last 10 years of jungle, Audio Addict has been a vital platform for many artists to breakthrough. Kumarachi, Agro, Scartip, RMS, Section, Jaybee and many more enjoyed early cuts on the label, who've always had an open remit that's stretched from heavier dancefloor cuts to deeper, more junglist tunes. Recently rebooted with a new plan and re-generated crew, the label now look back over many killer cuts from last decade. From the sun-kissed soul and key-tickling evangelist jam "Salvation" to the absolute rave carnage of "What's Going Down", the boys have gone in on this collection maintaining its still spotless reputation as one of the most consistent and prolific mix series available in the genre. Now a tradition for DJ Hybrid's label, this anthem collection is one of the biggest to date with names and vibes across the spectrum. Epicentre, Kumarachi, Conrad Subs, Stompz, Veak, RMS and many more all bring their fieriest artillery with highlights bursting from the seams. Every single track slaps the dance from the stripped back drumfunk and demented mentasms of Substrate's "Throwback" to the mystic sitar twangs and heavy bass bangs of Euphonique's "Moksha" via ruded up Dread bass badness of the bossman's own "Lost In The Jungle". And that's not even the tippiest tip of this anthemic jungle iceberg. Don't dilly dally.

Review: Deep In The Jungle Records is a UK jungle imprint that have been making bigger and bigger waves over the past several years, a big part of which is their affinity for fat compilations that straddle numerous sub-genre boundaries and which represent lots of different artists. This next one is about classics and it features artists like Conrad Subs, Kumarachi, DJ Hybrid, Kartoon and more. Conrad Subs is a favourite of ours and his cut, Takeover, is a wicked, deep rolling piece of work that packs a sick bassline, one which makes you think of late-night raving at its finest. This is a top compilation from a star label of the new wave.

Review: Deep in the Jungle know how to do jungle. The clue is in the name, really, and they're proving it again with this huge compilation of 40 huge jungle anthems from some of the best rising stars of the breaksy side of the scene. RMS, SL8R and DJ Hybrid all make an appearance, as do Kumarachi, Veak, Schematic and Epicentre. This is a very strong roster and its reflected in the tunes, with Schematic and RMS teaming up on 'Take It' to combine roughshod, vibrant breaks and moody atmospherics in glorious fashion. Check this one.

Review: These 3 are some of Manny's best forthcoming talent, a collection of artists who prioritise genuine vibes and naughty head nodders over pretentious introspection or chin-stroking punditry. Hardcore Vibes is an exemplification of that worldview, with four system-shaking cuts of jungle-influenced hedonism that range from the funky to the downright dirty. 'The Masses' falls into the latter of these two categories and it packs a tapestry of different low-frequency slivers and punchy bass notes, all underpinning a raucous set of jungle stutters and vibrato breaks. Wicked stuff.

Review: Not to be confused with the Julia Roberts classic, the Sound of Nuusic isn't a Bavarian epic but instead a UK underground epic of compilation sized proportions, with a whole raft of underground talents offering up a diverse concoction of jungle flavours. With Conrad Subs making several appearances, his stand-out contribution is 'Leave Dem', with a funked-up loping introduction that's seriously smooth but which quickly devolves into a stuttering balance of breaks and reece bass action. There's wicked jungle contributions from Kumarachi and RMS as well as Sheffield upstart Charla Green, whose knock-down breaks carry some serious weight. This is a must-listen for anyone who likes their jungle music.

Review: For this one we are bringing you some of Canada's finest jungle music, courtesy of RMS & Dubsoul Recordings. This two tracker is great way for the now established label to smash the doors down into the new year following a very lucrative 2017. Armed with a brand new Mackie mixing board, RMS goes wild with the A side entitled 'Fracture' which takes a half time jungle approach, coupled with angelic stabs and classic rolling sub frequencies. On the flip side we have the more traditional jungle arrangement of 'Loversball' which is a maze of chopped precisely chopped breaks and atmospheric soulful vocal leads.

A great opportunity to get up to speed on the 170BPM clarity DJ Hybrid operates the label at, every single track guarantees heat. Notable shouts go out to Kumurachi's various inclusions (especially Octo-Pi's brand new remix of "Phatty"), RMS & Dcision's low-riding bumper "One Ting", Epicentre's slinky soul-touched roller "infamous", Agro's skank-slapped "Bust Dis Ting" and Swerve's maximum-boosting twist of Hybrid's "What Else". But that really is the tip of the double-A iceberg. It's been an exceptional year for the label, and this is proof.

Label boss Hybrid teams up with rising star RMS for the ragga-raged lead track before we're treated to crucial cuts from the across the label's ever-growing talent roster: DJ Cautious's "Romy" is a stripped back swinger with stacks of space for the distinctive Top Cat style vocal chants, Galvatron pulls of the switch of his life on the expertly-tuned skank shock out "Revolution" and Lavery's awesomely titled "Akai Blackeye". Review: This is a nice collection of tight rollers, which will work across a variety of floors. Our favourite track of the release has got to be 'Right In Front Of You' with is twisted, itchy and glitchy vibe, the vocal shines stunningly bright against a dark and mutated soundscape. Classic vocals seem to be a theme of this release, amongst the crashing drums and slowed sax of 'Back To Reality' we hear the ever recognisable refrain from Soul II Soul's 'Back To Life'. 'Pump This Party' is another highlight of the EP following suit with another catchy and widely recognisable vocal sample.

Featuring some of the most exciting names to come through in the last few years, K Jah vamps up the force with a brutal homage to the old school, RMS lets us loose with a groaning ode to the mid 90s (with added 22nd century bass groans) and Too Greezey slaps us silly with a widescreen break and expert reverse wobble sitting obesely underneath. Review: Back to life, back to reality, back to the future, back to basics: RMS & Dcision let rip with the second part of their "Live The Life" project and it's another authentic drum & bass adventure. "Reachin Out" contains a vocal that all heads who live the life will recognise, "One Ting" is a timeless Bristol or Manchester roller the likes of which you could imagine in a Krust or Sappo set at any period since 1996. "Got Your Pleasure" nods towards the juke influence of jungle with serious ghetto attitude, "Hurt My Love" shows the duo's deeper side while "Foundations" smoulders slowly with dubby percussive build before dropping into a Spirit-style hook. Life affirming.

Review: Some say RMS stands for Really Mean Soundboy. Others say it stands for Ruthless Man Slappage. All we know for sure is that whatever label he's spotted on (Deep In The Jungle, Dubsoul, Innercity Dance, Back To The Jungle etc) RMS is dishing out some respect-commanding jungle right about now. "Let It Be" is an electrical stampede zipping and sizzling with a waspish filtered bassline while "Voodoo Magic Man" takes us deep into the 3am zone with stripped back arrangements, an alluring dub vocal and eerie atmospheres. Review: Both spotted on DJ Hybrid's Deep In The Jungle imprint, the ever-sharpened sonics of RMS and Dcision appear in full widescreen EP form on his flagship label Audio Addict. The outcome is every bit as gully, necksnappy and happy slappy as you'd want it to be: "Feel The Melody" taps deep into the timeless rave aesthetics, "This Is My Sound" loops up a sultry Riya-style vocal with savage soul results while Shotz joins the fray for a KO finale where the bass tears everything within a two mile radius a new one. For added kicks, RMS throws in the solo sampler salute "Back To Reality", a bumper so heavy in reference points you might just singe your whiskers. Living the dream.

And that's just four of over thirty moments. Trust... We can't stress how massive this is.

Review: How on point are Deep In The Jungle right now? Every release this year has been heavy enough to crush a soundsystem with authentic jungle ethics. Naturally RMS's return follows suit as we're splashed with every shade of foundation funk. "Rude Man Sound" is a flex back to ragga-charmed days, "No Matter" reminds us how vocals don't need to be cheesy or sung by soulless feature artists while "Love Bug" plays all the rave aces with a very clever sample trick and heavenly arpeggios. As for the title track? It's not called "Amen By Nature" for nothing. Precision drum work.

Review: Once you've finished saluting Audio Addict for the ridiculous title of this various artists EP press play... The sounds are even better than the memorable title. Samurai Breaks & DJ Hybrid's title track skips between eski fills, classic jungle elements and halftime steps with such slick fusion you could rewind this for hours and no one would blame you. Other highlights include the ragga steps and Dub Phizix-style jungle subversion of "On A Vibe", the barbed soul and Bukemesque brushed drums of "Wu Jukin", the gangster halftime of "Ruff It Up My Selecta" and "Night" where classic Blackmarket bass is fractured for the Exit generation. Audio Addict have always been generous and forward-thinking with their releases but this one raises the bar a few notches higher again. Essential.
