Review: Following on from releases on Leena, Cecille and Rejected, Evans returns to Nic Fanciulli's label for some more heads-down DJ tools. Evans strikes a balance between the functionality of Ben Klock and the trippy approach of classic Josh Wink on 'Go". It is a relentless affair, led by steely percussion and tough beats and his skills as a producer are audible in the way that he deftly positions incessant filters and pitch-bent vocals low in the mix. "This Is Carcosa" is less subtle, but it does showcase Evans' expertise in crafting tribal house, with tough beats providing the backdrop for a series of dark, grinding riffs.
