Review: It's been a brief minute since we last heard something brand new land from the legendary Royal-T, so this latest single was always going to put a smile onto our face. Taking a much more garage-centric approach on this one, 'Tabloids' is a minimal yet miraculous masterclass in rhythm and simplicity. Combining a subtle sub-bass below with groovy drums and a stripped back yet effective chord lead, it's a heads down roller for the clubs. This one also comes complete with an extended mix, for all the DJ's out there who will, just like us, want to let this one roll that little bit longer when we return to the dances.

Review: Being one of the new school royalty within the UK Bassline movement and one third of its most notable duo in TQD, Royal T has set the bar pretty high for himself as he unveils this brand new five track collection. He hits the ground running however as we kick off with 'Arcadia', a synth led shackout, sending dizzying bass rays left right and centre. Following this, we dip into the gritty synthesis of 'Overdose', before landing on the more funky drum inspired 'Stone Cold'. As well as these three originals, we are blessed with two official Royal T refixes, the first being a soulful 4x4 revamp of Flava D's 'Closer'. We finish up with another smooth piece as he overhauls DJQ's 'Time To Shine' with a bag of euphoric instrumentation.

Review: As one third of TQD and one of the most sought after DJ's in the world of grime and UK bass music, Royal T returns with a stunning five tracker. The title track is built for certified dancefloor destruction, with classic Royal T bass sounds running riot amidst perfectly placed percussion and drum patterns. Next up 'Without You' which is a beautiful piece of UKG arrangement. After this 'Don't You Know' takes up a more UK Funky arrangement before the rapid fire rhythms and expert melodic synthesis of 'Polyphonic' and 'Gunfingers' see the Southampton man return to his grimey roots. This EP just goes to show how well rounded a producer Royal T is, being able to swing effortlessly between different areas of UK music with absolute precision.

Review: Entitled simply Grime 2.0, this mammoth release sees grime originators sit next to a new breed of artists, all compiled by Big Dada label boss Will Ashon and journalist Joe Muggs. Documenting grime's continued development over the past ten years, its track selections also demonstrate that it's still a vibrant and flourishing genre. Some 35 tracks deep, the compilation sees Ashon and Muggs securing exclusive, previously unheard material, with notable grime figureheads such as Youngstar, Wiley and MRK1 contributing alongside current stars in Royal T and Preditah as well as an international cast of emergent new talent, with Local Action artist and Grimetapes documenter Slackk featuring too. Review: Stepping up for the next installment from the pioneering grime, dubstep and funky label Rinse is Royal-T. First up is "Inside The Ride", a rough and ready swinging stepper, with booming bass, funked up 2-step beats and plenty of East End attitude in the bleepy SFX, stabs and snapping snares. "Cool Down" pairs a hypnotic garage rhythm with cooing, silky smooth vocal and pumping dancefloor beats to enormous effect. Another legendary release from the Rinse crew!
