Review: In all honesty, we are running out of words to describe the pure domination we are seeing from the Duploc camp, especially with their output thriving heavily in 2023's unique dubstep ecosystem. For this latest offering, they celebrate their 100th official drop with a regal arrangement of guests, including the likes of Lost, Wraz, Rugby, Ternion Sound, ENiGMA Dubz and more, all of whom have pulled out their weightiest weapons in combined celebration. If you wanted a full on display of the majesty currently at work within dubstep's deep catacombs, then look no further than this epic selection, with our favourites including the ground mulching bass melodies of Hebbe's 'The Insider', next to Mystic State's warming rework of 'Voice' from Opus, and of course Hamdi's rave-ready synth action explored within 'Immortal'. There aren't many collectives doing more than the Duploc team right now.

Review: The Duploc team have a real knack for finding and unleashing explosive compilation drops, with this latest 8-track war-tape being another one to add to the arsenal, focussing on some potent remix action. Opening up with Mystic State's dreamscape-driven rethink of 'Voice' from Opus, we know we are in for a good time, with 11th Hour then giving Ourman's 'Bad Things' an electrifying overhaul next to the grungy synth pulses and grizzly drums of Woven Thorns' rework of 'One Time' from Juss B. There is no letting off the gas as AxH lets the bit crushers loose on his potent rethink of JSM's '1893', next to the eastern inspired melodic drifts of SBK's 'The Vihaan' remix from ColtCuts, the choppy LFO sweeps of Cesco's 'Mangal Sound' redesign from Oddkut & Hotcut and of course Mungk's sub-heavy switch up of 'Schreddzzz' from Rygby. Finally, Drumterror fires off a stuttering display of vocal chops and large melodic action on his 'Puli Kali' overhaul, giving Mungk's original one final rethink to round off the compilation in style.

Review: It is genuinely difficult at this point to keep finding new ways of describing just how good the White Peach catalogue has become, with this brand new drop from the ever ready Rygby hitting the mark yet again. The title track 'Ukksbrijj (Toerag)' plays the role of a melancholy score, with sweeping synth panning and delicate drum designs providing the juice. Following this, 'Mannulus' delivers a fluttering, mechanical system cleaner with the more unpredictable rhythmic switch ups and bulging subs tones of 'Inflection Point' following closely. Finally, the clunking bass stabs of 'Mun Hunni' and skippy drum textures provide something very different to round us off. Amazing work!

Review: As ever, Hypho has arrived with an incredible amount of style and flare with this one as he returns to his home label of Manuka for a spicy four track selection, pulling together the combined forces of four top production names for a sensational collaborative project. We begin our look at this one with Sumgii's insertions on 'Gold Metal', a low riding sizzler, driven by it's unusual drum allocations and slower tempo. Next, MR.K arrives for his additional inputs on 'Suss', another slower roller, glued together with metallic snare hits and dreamy synthesizer wafts, before 'Freeze' delivers a monstrously powerful arrangement, skippy as you like and featuring the handy work of Opus. Finally, 'Etiquette' sees Rygby make the final appearance with some very powerful sub pulses and an overall haunted tone, rounding off this excellent body of work in style.

Review: To look back over the last 18 months of Duploc releases would take us hours and hours, but we are sure we wouldn't be disappointed to do so. Their consistency and efficiency has set a fantastic example to the rest of the dubstep scene, which is why we couldn't wait to dive into this brand new mega compilation entitled 'Duuplates Collection'. Featuring a tracklisting consisting of stepper heavyweights such as Rygby, Ternion Sound, Hebbe, Mr. K and more, we knew we were in for a treat from the off. The project is a goliath in its field showcasing twenty bombshells, certain to cause havoc in dances worldwide. Our immediate stand outs would have to include the crunchy drum slaps and hypnotic chime melodies of 'You Said' from ColtCuts, alongside the highly energetic vocal switches and lethal bass drives of 'Left Behind', a masterpiece from ENiGMA Dubz. Incredible work!

Review: Encrypted Audio are kicking off a new decade with some serious style here as they invite the incredibly creative sounds of Rygby in for a three track bonanza. We kick off with the frankly stunning melodic synth manoeuvres and warbling LFO patterns of 'Janksy', before the trap-style drums and sharp, pulsating 808 subs of 'Twinkle Toez' follow up closely. Finally, we return to more Rybgy rhythmic genius as we take in 'Deadliest Force', another almost eskimo inspired composition, complete with popping drum arrangements and a constantly shifting icey soundscape. Lovely!

Review: As ever, we were excited to see a fresh batch of originals land in the store from the White Peach imprint, as Zha continues to push the label forward with hard-hitting and innovative 140BPM belters. This latest offering comes to us from Rygby, who's twisted, hypnotic structures kick start proceedings perfectly on the title track 'Consignment'. Following this, the smooth tripletted rhythms of 'Non-Commital' wade into the foreground, followed by the stunning soundscaping and wonderful wonks of 'Suckerpunch". Finally, 'Esoteric' injects some eerie energy to the project, coupled with glitchy rolling melodies and lo-fi chord movements to finish everything up nicely.

Review: It is hard to find any fault in the forward march of Duploc of late, who have continuously been supplying the scene with weighty original recordings, perfect for setting the dance alight. They here employ the talents of Rygby who lets loose across four potent originals, beginning with the swampy LFO textures and trippy atmospheric patterns of 'Ask Questions Later'. Next up, 'Schreddzz' emerges packing a groovy punch with guitar lead melodic structure, followed by the incredibly unique sound design of 'Consolation'. We then round the project up with a more precise look at 'The Hothouse Age', a track that combines drill-like drum work with haunted harmonies, yielding fantastic results.

Review: Chonk Mob's Yung Skyggerz comes correct once again. As always, it's a messy affair with elements, voices and ideas hitting from every angle. "Tym 2 Go Bak" is especially schizo with its footwork style vocal treatment, weirded out bass textures and barbed soul touches on the breakdown. Buckle up hard for "B Marine" as a seasick bassline gets busy with the harmonics and wavy with the flow. Top ledge business.

Review: One of Belgium's most authentic, dedicated dubstep collectives celebrate half a decade in the game with this impeccable 15 track collection from some of its nearest and dearest mates and both spirits and production benchmarks are set as high as you'd expect. Highlights? Bukez Finezt's ghetto-chomping wobbler "Real 2 Real" will leave you feeling seasick (in a good way) Requake will have you writing a new will and leaving everything to Duploc, Taiko's "Gremlin" will dark you out so hard you'll want to be blind (in the best way possible) while Saule's "Ottoia" stretches time and space in such a way you'll completely forget what day it is. Here's to five more years!

Review: From Bristol to Belgium with bass, up-and-comer Rygby lays down two of Duploc's deepest, most innovative tracks to date. "Pagan" somehow sounds sci-fi and jazz at the same time with its shimmering keys and roomy dynamics. "Poltergeist" is a little denser with its layers and twisted FX, weeping subs and overall dark textures. Two cuts, two different chapters of the night, two reminders why bass music is enjoying such a fine year: Rygby and Duploc. More please.
