Review: As the Six Swords title suggests, Manjumasi's latest EP boasts a sextet of cuts from a variety of rising talents. First to show his blade is Unjam Emery, who serves up a breezy chunk of psychedelic nu-disco/global house fusion. Saultloom's "Canoodle" is a pleasingly swashbuckling mixture of dubbed-out tech-house influences and trippy cosmic disco swagger, while Fernando Aragon's "Bergah" is an impeccably undulating trip into Innervisions style electronic house territory. Elsewhere, Sam Jaspersohn impresses with a chunk of electro/tech-house fusion (the spacey "Pretty vacant"), while Savvas & Vivid's "In The Sky, To The Stars" is an almost breathtaking slice of saucer-eyed, Motor City influenced deep house bliss. When the ambient breakdown kicks in, we guarantee the hairs on the back of your neck will stand on end.
