Review: Sam Shure makes a stellar debut on TAU with the "Deviated EP," a four-track exploration that showcasing the artist's musical prowess and worldly influences. The Berlin-based Sam Shure, hailing from a lineage of Egyptian jazz musicians, brings a unique blend of organic sounds to his productions, creating a distinctly human element. The title track kicks off the EP with a menacing yet contemplative vibe, skillfully balancing jaunty digital elements and a vicious riff. "Frontal" follows with a pumping tribal rhythm and a seamless incorporation of vocal clips and funky 'wah wah' guitar. "Maybe" impresses with exemplary drum programming and a soulful female vocal, gradually building into an energetic second half. Closing with "See Yourself", Shure delves into primal, tribal elements, layering beats and vocal clips to create a deep groove that evolves with tension and harmony. Review: Mind Against have released on well-known labels like Hotflush and Afterlife - now they bring their distinctive sound to this collection for Fabric. "Freedom", the pair's collaboration with Dyzen, encapsulates everything that Mind Against are associated with; widescreen synths, dreamy deep house textures and crisp break beats. There are similarly hypnotic contributions from Yotam Avni and Marino Canal. However, this selection is not one-dimensional; it also features tough dub techno from Echonomist and Toto Chiavetta, as well as more left of centre selections like the organic, tribal drums of Aera's "Ketosis" and Red Axes' electronic disco, "Connector". That the Mind Against duo are able to integrate these disparate elements and put their own mark on the end result speaks volumes about their talents.

Review: Berlin-based Sam Shure breaks out of lockdown to offer three fresh tracks and two remixes on his new EP for local institution Stil Vor Talent on the 333 EP. From the deep dive into the exotic on slow burning opener "Zion", to the melodic dancefloor drama of "Fae", to the emotive progressive breaks of the title track - the EP gets off to a fine start. Then, Canary Islands native Alex Medina (Innervisions / Transmoderna) gets onboard for a remix of "333", while Turkish techno heavyweight duo Murat Uncuoglu & Alican Yuksel provide an utterly mesmerising perspective of "Fae" which is sure to get you trancing out under the strobe lights.

Review: Congratulations to long-running Berlin label Still Vor Talent, which has now notched up no less than 200 releases. To celebrate this milestone, the label has put together this fine celebratory compilation featuring contributions from "old and new faces". Fittingly, it's arguably one of the imprint's strongest and most varied releases to date. Of course, there's plenty of typically Germanic fusions of deep house and tech-house present, but also the Arabic-influenced deep house exotica of Sam Shure, the rising, piano-laden dancefloor bliss of Oliver Koletzki's "Don't Take Yourself Too Seriously", the heavily electronic, club-ready psychedelia of Fideles ("Dark Stone") and the lilting melodies of Deorbiting's warm and picturesque "Warnsignal".
