Review: With Ibiza's extended summer season almost upon us, Toolroom has served up a suitably epic collection of cuts that it expects to be big on the White Isle this summer. Label boss Mark Knight has provided a trio of DJ mixes ("Poolside", "Club" and "Afterclub") and the unmixed tracks included all fit into these loose categories. There's not enough room to list all of the highlights, but we've been enjoying the funk-fuelled disco-house rush of Illyus and Barrientos' "The One", the sleazy, bass-heavy bounce of Max Chapman's "Steppa", the acid-powered tech-house-jack of Del-30's "Gravity" and the weighty, mind-altering thump of "Low End Theory" by Eli Brown.

Review: This compilation provides a taster of what's in store on Loco Dice's label this year - and it would appear that classic house music is its 2015 theme. That's not to suggest that Desolat has commissioned a series of throwaway tracks, and there is a surprising amount of diversity on offer. Yaya and Lorenzo Chiabotti's "Dhalism" is a deep, dub-infused groove that recalls DiY's sound, while Alexandar Ivkovic's excellent "B70" fuses dark, tribal New York drums with breathless chords. Fans of the harder iterations of 90s house - as opposed to plain old hard house - will also find much to love here, including the drum rolls and ominous chords of Chuckie's "Abu Dhabi Join" and the irresistible track head sound on Santos' "Flow".

Review: Santos has been around longer than most contemporary house producers and his experience shines through on this release for Nic Fanciulli's label. "From A Phe" is built on a buzzing bassline and tough, tribal drums, but Santos ensures that it stands apart from the slew of tool house releases by using a vocal sample from a deranged prison inmate. "Desk 94" sees Santos oopt for a deeper approach, with dubby chords enveloping a spiky, angular rhythm. Then there's "Personal Safari". Leving the dense tribal drums on hold, Santos delves deep into synth led sequences, underpinned by crisp drum machines.

Review: House DJs MYNC offer an exhaustive overview of the tracks that rocked the long-running White Island venue this summer. In the soulful corner, there's the Maxi Soundsystem take on Boris Dlugosch's "Look Around You". Featuring Roisin Murphy on vocals, it does a lot to sweep away the rainy autumn blues. Ten Walls deliver the trancey goods in the shape of "Gotham", which revolves around a belching bassline, but the most notable aspect of Ibiza 2013 is the way minimal producers have come into the house fold. Loco Dice borrows a prog house bassline for 'Detox' and Luciano's "Rise Of The Angel" - remixed here by Andrea Oliva - is a piano-led, wide eyed deep anthem.

Review: Next up on Nic Fanciulli's Saved imprint is Italian DJ/producer Santos. "Ghetto People" bridges the gap between tool house and tribal techno, its rolling funk bassline and hissing percussion making it ideal for DJs of either persuasion. Midway through, a vocal and a euphoric synth are introduced to the arrangement, followed by a series of drum rolls that lead to the inevitable climax. "Gentle Crime" is less upbeat; based on a lithe, jacking rhythm and featuring chopped up vocals, it's the droning, groaning bass, borrowed from Reese and reintepreted for contemporary dance floors that will ensure it gets noticed and played.
