Featuring 36 creations, this selection is a DJ's secret weapon for certain, with the likes of Kefford, Sub Fusion, Outrage, Sanxion, S.U.R.E and Nyxen alongside many more delivering top quality additions to the track listing. For us, this is a project best absorbed through the attached continuous DJ MIX, but our standouts would have to include the brain-boggling wave synth work of The Rumblist's 'Mind Blown', alongside the more throwback metallic dinks of Lucas's 'Light & High Beauty' original. Sensational stuff from all involved.

Review: All party systems go as Music Monday arrives on the scene with a tasty box of treats from Billy Daniel Butler and Sanxion, who present their combined efforts across this fantastic 'Bleeps, Bass & Acid Music' project. From the jump we are treated to a tonne of digital nostalgia, from the blippy synthesiser runs and looped bass textures of '90 Bleeps & Bass' to the euphoric chord sets of 'Acid Rocker' and classic vocal sampling of 'Broader Than Broadway'. It's a top quality collection to say the least, with our clear standouts including the carnival infused breaksy drum work of 'Don't Call It That', next to the more old school drum shuffles and super acidic synthesiser pelts of '118' and fidget-infused drum arrangements of 'Heat'. Lovely work from both parties on this one!

Coming on strong in a similar way to Darrison, Bushman elevates with instant soul and authentic reggae dynamics throughout. Remix-wise Westy adds a deeper twist as he removes a lot of the original instrumentation while the 140 Remix takes us right back to Zinc's classic "138 Trek" era of garage breaks. Review: This one is a bit of a whopper. With 43 unmixed tracks to choose from and two bonus DJ mixes from curator Jay Cunning, there's plenty for fans of 140 BPM plus bass music to sink their teeth into. The tracklist reads like a who's who of the breaks, jungle and breakbeat garage scene, with stalwarts Ellis Dee, I.D, High Rankin and DJ Twista joined by a welter of lesser-known artists (601, Aries, Gella) for an all-out assault on the senses. From hardcore revivalism and early jungle roughness to bhangra-flecked beats and electro-breaks madness, Bass Selection Volume 1 has it all - if you're looking for speaker-shaking heaviness, you really can't go wrong.
