Sato first came onto our radar when he appeared on Med School's "New Blood 011" compilation earlier this year. Now he makes a welcome return on Psylence's Ingredients Recordings with a storming pair of tunes which blend understated cool with dancefloor panache. First up is title track "Glide", which has much of Sato's signature sound - punchy, in yer face drums and ominous atmospherics, coupled with grouchy b-line and detailed SFX. As if that wasn't enough, Phobia remixes the superb "Detroit Lies Bleeding" with its quasi political message, terse, tripping breaks, buzzing synthline and pervasive sense of danger, into an altogether darker beast. An excellent and truly satisfying release from Ingredients.
