Review: The run that we find Infernal Sounds upon has seen them unleash some incredible creations as of late, with this new link up between J:Kenzo & Saule being a perfect example of that energy. We begin by diving head first into J:Kenzo's long awaited remix of 'Cure Dem', rebuilding the track into a dancehall inspired system rattler, with crunchy rhythmic slaps and a warbling synth line out front for good measure. On the flip, We take in the ferocity of 'Shijima's Revenge', a grizzly low end bubbler, driven primarily by it's pulsating bassline and piercing ride-cymbals. What a double up this one is!

Review: As ever with Artikal Music releases, we are in for an absolute treat on this one as they invite in the forward thinking sounds of Saule for three tracks of steppers bliss. We kick off this one with the title track 'Zeroes', a high pitched warbler, reminiscent of early Clue Kid heaters, followed up by the super deep sub tones and war like drum slaps of 'Baro', already giving the EP some seriously cool contrasting points. We then move into the eerie overtones and unpredictable drum punches of 'Pistola' which boasts yet more weighty sub movements, rounding up a tight body of work.

Review: The ever impressive release roster of Joe Nice's Gourmet Beats imprint continuous to excel, this time bringing together the duo of Prism and Saule for a fantastic three track spread. The title track 'Grow Stronger' begins with funky disco arrangements, before descending into glitchy bitcrushed leads and scattered drum arrangements with a really cool shimmer. Prism steps up solo next for his weighty roller 'The Path' before Saule descends into the dungeon with his sub heavy designs across 'Backwards'. The pair's styles compliment each other heavily throughout, making this an extremely cohesive body of work!

Review: Two titans from two sides of the bass Atlantic team up for a seriously sticky situation: "Gorilla Glue". Hairy, scary and endangered, this will have you beating your chest for years to come. The other three tracks are equally beastly. "World 8" is a classic dubwise affair, all stripped back and spooky, "Close Chatter" is real hurricane of ice, skanking and stepping with dramatic mischief while "Crypt" wakes up the dead with its creepy organ textures and abyssal subcraft. This is prime mate.

Review: New artillery of dubstep swelters from the on-fire FatKidOnFire imprint - yessir! Militant bass vibes and deathly percussive stabs all-round with this new four-way compilation from a bunch of newcomers, and it's all very much in the typical spirit of the label. "Fear Spud" by D-Operation Drop is like a war march guided by a band of low frequencies, Iskeletor's "Charizard" is a wild, venomous slice of neuro-funk with a broken beat, while "S.90" by Saule is a more typical dubstep anthem a-la DMZ, and Bukez Finezt goes more acoustic with his harmonious bass experiment tagged "False Friends". Bad.

Review: Long-time conspirators Malleus and Saule return to Gourmet with three slabs of head-nodding bass dynamite. One collaboration and two originals, all skills are showcased here. "Bad Kids" was teased well over a year ago on dub, instantly winning friends with its spacious dynamic and purring low-end. "Kalakuta" takes a completely different approach as Saule takes us on a trip down Havana's dustiest alleys with a horn section in-tow. Finally Malleus gets his percussion all squelchy and wet as he flexes his trippiest (and Frenchiest) of designs on "Parce Qu'il Est Mort". Innovation.

Review: It's a Saule co-lab showdown on Foundation Audio right now as the Santa Cruz depth plunger gets busy with fellow US cohorts Subtle Minds and Malleus. "Omerta" is all about the complex percussive dynamic as heavily layered drum elements are weaved with a spell-binding, rhythmic effect. "The Flip Version" follows from Saule's killer remix of Malleus's "Wall To Wall", a harder-hitting affair than "Omerta", the emphasis is squared plainly on the oceanic bass waves as they ebb and flow against the industrial strength drums. Two partnership productions, two critical reasons to keep Saule on your radar.

Review: Belgium's Sub Rosa come through with their seventh edition of their mighty noise and electronic compilation and as per usual, it contains just about every sort of style and genre within the electronic domain, handsomely packed in a 39 track format. These editions have always been great for people who have either owned these records on vinyl or tape and want to listen to them with ease, or for the ones who wish to gain some insight into the history of noise, drone and beyond. Of course, the seventh edition is ridden with both classics and obscurities, such as Mika Vainio's "Transformer 7" - one of the man's craziest pieces - and we praise Sub Rosa once again for their gorgeous efforts.
