Review: Liquid D&B 4 Autism return with another exciting VA to raise money for charities that help those with autism, especially in countries where support isn't accessible or available. The turn-out, as with the previous collection in 2020, is immense with a whole host of talents stepping up with vibes galore ranging over 50 tracks. Highlights include the solemn yearns of Edward Oberon's 'Love Will Get Us Through', Anthony Kasper's warm and stretchy 'Life Ain't Perfect', Bachelors Of Science's 'Light Me Up' and Furney's hazy 'De La Soul Saturday' but that really is just the tip of what this album has to offer. Get involved and support a great cause.

Review: This VA is jam-packed with some of the scene's best liquid maestros, and it's of the movement for Liquid Drum & Bass 4 Autism, a group which seeks to raise awareness and money for those who have autism. Low:r, Furney, MsDos and more have gotten themselves involved, and the result is a lovely, serene walk through some of 174's most nonchalant moments. 'Eyes Closed' by Low:r is especially gorgeous, with his trademark organic sound fluttering in the wind of his creativity like usual. Changer is characteristically deep with 'Only To Be', and it's just the iceberg of what is a brilliant album for a brilliant cause.

Review: Pure Brazilian high grade; longstanding Sao Paulo stable DNBB reflect over some of their most touching, soulful rollers and gossamer grooves with this third volume in the Golden Team series. Highlights can be found across the entire 23-track collection but instant bliss and pure uplift can be found on the likes of Mystific's piano-pimped "Into The Sky", Motta's lavish soul and sample craft on "True Romance", the sultry Latin purrs and nylon strings of DJ Roots "Sorriso De Flor" and the emotional key lilts and hurricane atmospheres of Cosmikk's "Lea". Nothing but vibes, sunshine and soul, when they say gold, they mean gold.

Review: Soul Deep founder and LA drum & bass lynchpin Scott Allen returns to his own label with two more groove delights. Riding in the momentum of this summer's heavily played "This Is Love" comes the soft lilting glimmers and ripples of "Soul Complex" and "Mixed Emotions". The former grows and mutates subtly as the track develops while the latter (a co-lab with Konfront Audio) adds a slightly darker underbelly with the bass and flexes around some seriously sensual sax work. Divine.

Review: Fresh off the back of his Jazzsticks cameo, Soul Deep bossman Scott Allen finally finds time to insert his own D&B magic into his continually packed (and consistently on-point) Soul Deep release schedule. Swooning and rolling as a hazy vocal hook leans back over a weave of dreamy harps and light-footed skippy breaks, it's a straight up case of soul hypnosis. Command Strange adds a bit more of a jagged edge to the groove on the remix. Lovely.

Review: The word jazz is criminally misused. One can wear jazzy trousers. One can flash jazzy hands. Shucks, one can even cook a recipe called 'jazzy potatoes'. But real, actual, jazz - the idea of fusion, improvisation and the notion of not following formula - is hard to find outside of the genre itself. Until you hit the fringes and deeper or classical side of drum & bass. Textures Music Group's Jazz Legends series is a great example; the wily drum dynamics on Soultec's "The Happening", the stroppy sub bass wriggles on Blade's "Back In The Days", the cosy synth nests between the snares on Aquasion's "Sax In The City". The true spirit of contemporary jazz is alive and kicking at 170BPM right here.

Review: Fresh, rollin' breaks and roots reggae sampling signals the first track on Soul Rebel's latest signing Scott Allen's "We Nah Run". Close-knitted amens duck and weave around retro guitars as that vintage vocal moves the atmosphere into a clearer focus. A clear club banger, it's just the right balance between jungle and drum & bass to get the masses bouncing. "Toonzragga" is a more stately jungle affair, blasting those sirens and horns from the outset with dancehall beats and big soundboy bass. Review: Next up and Influenza Media bring us another cracking four-track EP from Lapse, Macca, Scott Allen, Paul SG, Carter and Rowpieces. Kicking off with the title track "What Lies Ahead" its all swooning instrumentals in the manner of Hospital, rolling breaks and lilting, mellifluous melodies galore. Moving through this blissful haze to "Life's Complex", Macca & Scott Allen's collab is an infectiously fun little romp with punchy breaks and echoing vocal element. Next we have "Untake" which takes things on a slightly tougher tip with pummeling drums and booming subs, before the lovely "Cool Jazz" rounds things off in style.
