Review: Argentina's Shall Ocin has been making and releasing tunes since 2012, but this latest appearance on Scuba's larger-than-life Hotflush Recordings is sure to be the artist's winnig ticket, thus far. Seeing as the London label has branched out onto house and techno over the last few years, "The Cliff" is a perfect addition to the catalogue, and its power drums are just the right thing for its warm, driving bassline. Although it also flies under the techno moniker, "The Mist" is tamer, more contained and could eb the perfect weapon to bridge one killer with another on the old mixer. Fresh, full of energy and utterly banging.

Review: Argentinean producer Nicolas Abalos continues his impressive run under the Shall Ocin guise with this split release on Ellum Audio following some well received transmissions for Leftroom Limited, ALiVE and Culprit. You may think Lurking Wolves vs Space Localizer is a curious title, but it simply refers to the name of two tracks here as Shall Ocin shares the release with another Ellum Audio debutant in the shape of Spanish production talent FiberRoot. "Lurking Wolves" is both trippy and driving, the kind of FX heavy number you'd hear deep into a Maceo Plex set, whilst "Space Localizer" from FiberRoot is a masterclass in tension and emotional release.
