Review: As one of the leading forces in worldwide bass music, AC Slater returns to his home imprint of Night Bass to unveil a fabulous selection of remixes, working directly off his critically acclaimed 'Hi8' album project. The line up is spicy to say the least, with the likes of Flava D, Sammy Virji, DALCO, NuKid, CID and more all getting involved for one the biggest remix projects bass music has ever seen. The two real standouts for us come from two brits however, as Bushbaby's colourful relick of 'Attitude' from AC & Taiki Nulight immediately catches our ears, alongside Drinks On Me's smooth and well thought out overhaul of 'Every Pigeon Is a Dove', featuring the wonderful vocal layers of Murkage Dave.
Review: It's been a long time coming, but after a long run of exciting single drop, Night Bass founder and all around dance music legend: AC Slater lands on his home imprint for a brand new album project. The project features the previously released single 'Final Fantasy' but as a club mix alongside a bag of incredible collaborative additions, including Dread MC, Jay Robinson, Chris Lorenzo, Murkage Dave, Taiki Nulight and more. With twelve tracks of the highest quality, AC has really set the bar super high, with particular highlights including the high energy collaboration with Jack Beats, Sinden and Flowdan entitled 'Boss Like That', along with the tasty house tones of 'Feeling Awake'.
Review: Flinging double negatives like a clown hurls custard pies, AC Slater builds on Night Bass's generous debut release with his second full-fat EP of the year. With a sound and attitude that's been cemented into the bass scene psyche for a decade, you know what to expect from him: BS-free floor-fire with added humour... And that's exactly what we get. "The Chirp" is a Dirtybird-level jacker, "Skywalker OG" taps deeper into the classic house roots with an air of late 90s Van Helden, "Waterverb" flips the trap bird before dropping into some seriously silky 4/4 wobble while "Not No Love Song" vibes with classic rave synths and a speed garage style drop that's not, not, amazing.
Review: ooohhh - the calculating Night Bass imprint returns to some quick fire action thanks to this naughty VA comp - and the results are as impressive as they are, well, booty-shaking. There's a whole line of stars in the making here, with peeps like AC Slater, Phlegmatic Dogs and Petey Clicks all offering their various new strains of high-grade bass mutations. In fact, much like the label's wider catalogue, these future-minded bangers are a mixed race fo sorts; from speedy garage to teched-out house and dubstep, there's something in here for all lovers of the UK ting. Yes, yes!
Review: Wow, what a run it has been for the Night Bass team who hear touch down with their one hundredth official release, celebrating one of the most exceptional catalogues within the entire bass music spectrum. They have pulled together an exquisite line up for this one, featuring a tonne of high end names, including founder AC Slater alongside Chris Lorenzo, Flava D, Shift K3y, Jack Beats and more. For us there are a couple of clear stand outs on this one, the first of which has to be the long awaited release of Taiki Nulight and Dread Mc's bassy roller: 'Kush'. We also love the smooth subby bops of Sinden's 'Work That', along with the incredibly unique drum work of 'Ugly' from Petey Clicks.
Review: Originally a pioneer of fidget house with Herve and Switch, Graeme Sinden recently relocated to Los Angeles to regain his mojo. However, despite the ubiquitous EDM that surrounds him there, his sound still stays true to the good old UK. Here on the Crystal Maze EP he presents four sizzling new cuts - the dubby garage of the title track, the bouncey hip-house of "Southern Rhythm", the trippy bleeps of booty joint "To The Ground" and the badass wobble attack "To The Ground".
Review: Despite often playing second fiddle to his original partner The Count aka Herve, Graeme Sinden is still doing alright for himself. Having recently relocated to LA, his relentless productivity is beginning to bear fruit with this, his first solo release of 2013. Despite being the other side of the Atlantic both tracks here display distinct UK influences: "Bad Boy" fuses choppy, fidgety loops, a ragga MC sample and some seriously wobbly UKF. The best track though, is the more linear "Tempest Storm" which features long deep house loops and some absolutely lovely garage-inspired melodies.
Review: It's been a long wait since the debut, Step Back, by Graeme Sinden's new project The Crystal System, but the follow-up, "Got Me Moving", is finally here. He's clearly been taking a painstaking approach to production and it shows: the title track being four and a half minutes of exquisitely groomed hypnotic disco-dub. There's loads of remixes too, the best of the bunch including Sonny Fodora's almost electroclashy sleazy funker, the mindblowing warped synth stabs of Odysseus' "dark house mix" and Pilo's haunted-step growler. Mixes with bite.
Review: An intriguing coming together of bass talents on this double-tracker from Unknown To The Unknown, which features Sinden and 5kinandbone getting marvellously murky and dubby on the half-steppin' dread of "Coin Power", while Sinden passes the baton to Canadian outfit Babe Rainbow, who also collaborate with 5kinandbone on the minimal tech-step of the equally sinister "Dis You Knock".
Review: Sinden and DJ Q touch down on Night Bass which, unsurprisingly, means a barrel-full of dread-out low frequencies and crafty dance moves. The two-tracker kicks off with "Bigger Than Jaws", unleashing a sidewinder of a bass, all wobbly and grime-friendly, filtered through a bumpy garage riddim for maximum floor damage. "The Original" is even nuttier in its apparoach and harmonic mannerisms, unloading some pure mutant bass over chilly rave stabs and another magnetic drum rhythm that's utterly club-friendly. Badass!
Review: The Nightbass rampage continues to roam into new territory here as they get busy with a super experimental collaboration. Primarily known for his catchy 140 grime flows, Capo Lee joins the party with a potent vocal appearance alongside messers Sinden and Lo'99 on 'Natural High'. This one is set to cause major damage in the dances as Capo's smooth vocal presence sits perfectly atop stripped back drum designs and potent sub pressure. This one comes complete with two remixes, with Proxy sending the original to the distortion choppin block and Bijou reworking the track into a super techy roller. Great stuff again from the Nightbass camp.
Review: Two of the most prominent faces on the Night Bass roster, Petey Clicks and former fidget house man, Sinden, have teamed up to deliver two punishing (in a good way) bangers. The title track gives a little UK 4x4 twist to a classic underground US house sound, whilst "Heartbeat" goes all out for the retro approach, with old skool organ stabs and wailing pitched-up diva vocals. Label boss AC Slater then delivers an utterly mesmerising electro-bass rejig of the title track and Hotfire injects some serious bottom end into their version of "Heartbeat". Ace sounds!

Review: The rampage of the Night Bass collective shows no sign of slowing any time soon as they roll out another top draw compilation, this one consisting of six heaters under the name of 'Summer Phrases 2018'. Taiki Nulight and Hadean kick off proceedings with their tearout roller in 'No Attention', with 219 Boys following up on some sublow flavours in 'Hooked Up'. Codes then provides some techy tastings on 'Brand New Drop' before Bijou teams up with Davonyea Marcel for the experimental stylings of 'On Read'. Sinden & Dillon Nathaniel finish up the EP in style with their explosive outings on 'Swervin In A Lex' and 'Can't See Me'. Another top draw outing for the Night Bass camp.
Review: The latest release on the Boysnoize compilation is a compilation that draws on the label's fine electro and techno legacy. "Travis" by label owner Boys Noize is an acid-soaked, stripped back jacker, while in contrast, Strip Steve delivers a disco-sampling banger on "Dancin". Both Cardopusher and Djedjotronic's contributions focus on tougher, electro-techno rhythm tracks, underpinned by ominous bass, while at the deeper end of the spectrum, there's Jan Driver, who fuses bass drops with a chugging groove and hypnotic synth flourishes. Boysnoize also deserves kudos for scoring a track from Lone, with the UK producer's "For Ed" showcasing his melodic, offbeat approach to techno.
Review: The team behind the Nightbass movement continue their incredible journey through 2018 here with yet another solid compilation, really pushing the Night Bass sound right through to the year's end. This project is made up on 9 original records, including top draw creations from the likes of AC Slater, Bijou, Cause & Affect, Taiki Nulight, Bassboy and more, making up a spectacular line up to say the least. For us the instant highlights on this one have to include 'The Freq' from 219 Boys and 'Church (feat Dances with White Girls)' from Sinden & Petey Clicks, both of which encapsulate the darkened futuristic bass stylings of Night Bass perfectly!

Review: LA's Night Bass imprint is contributing significantly to the US' newfound love for dance music that takes low frequencies to new extremes. As such, the label have opted to launch the fifth instalment of the This Is Night Bass series and, as you'd expect there's all sorts of bangers ready-made for dancehall gun-slinging in here! Tagged as bass doesn't do it justice though; Volac's opening "Wait A Minute" is basically a house tune that meets Drake-like r&b vocals, with the same going for Bijou's and Sinden's own 4/4, bass-filtered killers. Petey Click's "U NO I" takes the electro house framework to new and bruising levels, whereas Astronomar manages to strip it back down to tech-house territories on "100 MPH". Jay Robsinson, Dillon Nathanie and the 219 Boys are all the same wave-length, which is impressive given the fact that each one of these artists caters to a particularly niche shade of nu-school house. SUMMER ANTHEMS ABOUND.
