Review: The man is at it again, but this time around, on both the instrumental and vocal side of things as Smokey Bubblin' B returns on 'FTC'. This one a seriously cool rave-ready anthem, utilizing Smokey's vocal debut with some poetic, throwback lyricism, layered with smooth bass action below and warm organ chords above, giving us a sizzling summer feel throughout. On remix duty, Para arrives for a much more melodic design, alongside the instantaneously recognizable bars and flows of Smasher, giving this one a very tasty overall overhaul indeed, perfect for BBQ season and the dancefloors it brings with it. Fabulous work!
Review: It's been a very exciting run for the 24hr Garage Girls, with head honcho Shosh pushing the brand further forward with a run of very exciting live shows now on the way. This compilation is a perfect way for them to launch into 2022, exploring some of the finest talents currently active within the UKG world. They have assembled a mighty roster, featuring the likes of Smasher, Soulecta, Fabian Dubz, K9, SOULSTATE, Sub Templa, Joe Burger & more. The quality level has never been higher, however, there are a few clear standouts we have to mention. Shosh's own submission alongside the wonderful Leanne Louise takes the title 'Just Words' and lands as an immediate floor-filling anthem, alongside Smokey Bubblin' B & Zefer's party starting original: 'Unless It's Sweet' and Laura Alice's crunchy roller 'Don't Know'.
Review: Since forming the label imprint, DJ EZ's Nuvolve imprint has been chucking banger after banger out there at an incredibly consistent rate, inviting the likes of Shosh, MPH, Blak Habit and more onto the roster which is already shaping up very nicely indeed. Their next outing sees them link up with the veteran sounds of Smasher, who once again provides us with some sumptuous UKG flavour on 'Calling'. Through the sweeping pad textures and bubbling basslines we find ourselves engulfed in an incredibly colourful creation, taken to the next level by some genius vocal sampling to put the final pieces of icing on the cake. Wonderful work!
Review: What a link up we have here as the newly formed Billitfam, AKA: Smasher and Mighty Moe join forces for a brand new single by the name of 'Vibes And Wot Not'. The interesting thing about this with this one of course is that we are so used to hearing both Smasher and Mighty Moe rolling out over skippy garage instrumentals, however both of them deliver to the highest degree with their singalong-ready inputs. The whole release is then turned on its head as Smokey Bubblin' B arrives with a well thought out UKG relick, adding a fabulous level of variation for the dance. Fabulous stuff!
Review: What an absolute pleasure it is to see Smasher back in the driving seat as On Top unveil a brand new two track selection, showcasing some of the most vibrant UKG to hit the shelves so far this year. We kick off firstly with the super groovy twists and turns of 'Got All Night', a fantastic title track, incorporating a combination of old school and modernized garage themes, bubbling away to brew up a certified belter. On the flip side the good vibes continue, as the scattered drum arrangements and unorthodox bass exhalations formulate an unusual rhythmic base, perfect for switching up the vibe in any dance!
