10 Years Of Grand Theft Audio

AC MC, Shaya & Skuff - "Drop The Knife" - (6:02) 57 BPM
Review: Northern banger brigade GTA are marking a big old decade in the game with this walloping collection of beats across the spectrum. Delivered in 10s over five different themes from classics to remixes to floor-scorchers, the end result is an excitingly varied and feisty 50-strong spread of drum & bass perspectives where vibes range from Conrad Subs' utterly gully jungle vibes on his remix of Sl8r's 'Facking Jungle M8' to the thundering dancefloor wallops of Cliques' remix of the label bosses 'Pico De Gallo'. No strong is left unturned throughout the collection as we're just as like to be refreshed by liquid (Pyxis & Maykor's 'Guardian Angel') as we are flattened by venomous, laser-kissed neuro blasts (ICU's remix of 'Rip The Roof Off') Crash bang wallop what an album.

Conrad Subs - "Little Vibey Thing" (Aries remix) - (4:55) 56 BPM
Saxxon & Teej - "Soundkill" - (5:52) 58 BPM
Review: As 2023 starts to wrap up, Manchester label Nuusic take the time to reflect on the year they've had and bring their many releases together in one comprehensive collection. Looking back over key releases such as Guzi's album Goldstone Life, Grimesy's 'Voices' and Conrad Subs' 'Don't Blame The DJ', there's a powerful range of party starters, bubblers, skankers and slappers. To pick just a few highlights from 30 is pretty hectic, but Tweakz' jazzy planet stamper 'Love & loyalty', Rise's creeped out 'Intertwined' and Guzi & Epicentre's walloping 'Rate My Switch' are a great place to start. If you've got any holes in your Nuusic collection, now's your chance to get stuck in.

The Drift Part I (Antagonist remix) - (6:49) 57 BPM
Review: Manchester's Sola return to their massive debut album from last year with this equally hefty remix collection featuring a wide range of impressive, high grade names. ESKR, Guzi, Cliques, Plastmator, Shayper, Pyxis and Antagonist are just some of the top shelf names at play here as we're whipped across the dancefloor continuum relentlessly in a similar spirit to the original album. Every remix is a highlight but Cliques' devastating twist of 'Pico De Gallo', Clarkey's ultra-stomp twist on 'Trust Grit', Antagonist's deep rebuild of 'The Drift' the Perplex's BBK-level tear-up of 'Maintain Thine Hue' are some of the biggest stand-out bangers on here. Time to get starry eyed once again!

Review: Bill & Ed's burgeoning Jungle Tings imprint continues to explode all over the gaff with this monster 21-track collection from the very forefront of international breakbeat craft. Featuring a whole cast of names from their native US stomping ground plus select artists from around the world and UK, the vibe is consistent and uncompromising... Highlights include the jazzy rawness of Kool-Aid Kemist's 'Something Fresh', the pounding 4x4 hardcore heroics of Smurf's 'Old Skool' and the mile-a-minute tear-out bubbles of DJ QT's 'Right Here'. Eski B - "Tsunami" - (4:37) 58 BPM
Nothing To Lose & Metrodome - "Jungled To Shreds" - (5:27) 57 BPM
Review: Grand Theft Audio 50 LP is the largest project in the label's history; a 50 track album featuring 25 brand new ones, and another 25 from their extensive back catalogue. They released them over four editions in late 2021,but here it is in its full entirety and, again, we'd like to stress that it's a whopping 50 tracks! From the fierce breakbeat science of Sl8r & Somebody Else's "Facking Jungle M8", to the dark side jump-up of Nothing To Lose & Echidna's "Cyclops" (Intraspekt remix), the widescreen cinematic rhythms of Cynical Gene's "Emerge" and Nvrsoft & Sola's emotive vocal drum 'n' bass roller "Falling" - there's plenty more where they came on the Manchester label's impressive celebratory compilation.

Motiv - "Gallows" (VIP) - (4:30) 58 BPM
Review: Doe, a deer, a female deer. Ray a drop of golden sun. That's The Sound Of Music, circa 1965. Boh, a banger, an absolute banger. Whey, a drop of golden gunfingers. That's the 'Sound Of Nuusic', circa right about now as the Manchester based label let rip with their third V/A experience. Now an annual thing for the label, it's their biggest collection yet as it's super-charged with blaze-ups from the best in the new-gen game. From Sl8r's opener to Conrad Subs' grand VIP finale by way of cuts from the likes of Teej, Sola, Kuma, Epicentre, Kumarachi, Motiv, Selecta J-Man and many more on-point future headlining names, this isn't just the sound of Nuusic, it's the sound of now.
