Review: The New York-based four-piece band Soul Inscribed mixes up a heady brew of Hip Hop poetics and sultry R&B/soul vocals, propelled by a sonic blend of jazz, funk and dub instrumentals. The quartet is composed of Baba Israel (MC/production), Duv (vocalist), Sean Nowell (Sax, Flute, FX) and Yako 440 (instrumentation/production). First up, Manchester's finest Irfan Rainy & Rex Leon deliver a typically deep and soulful and fittingly NYC vibe to the track and it's no wonder considering their Community party has brought over the likes of legends Danny Krivit and Timmy Regisford. Speaking of The Big Apple; one of the city's new breed is Eli Escobar who delivers a very hi-tech soul kinda vibe on his rendition. It will appeal to fans of the classic Innervisions sound.
