Review: MsDoS is on a roll at the moment, with a slew of releases coming out on Fokuz and this is next offering is another sublime and lustrous affair full of gentle rhythms, glorious melodies and pattering breaks. Kicking off with a collab with the ever-talented Flowrian, "Shang Waters" is all echoing vocal snippets and fast paced rolling breaks with sweeping melodies a-plenty. Next up, MsDoS teams up with Blade for "Cold In Summer" which is another blissed out beauty. Next comes two more cuts from MsDoS and SoulTec; first is "Summer Love Affair" with its raw, rhythmic pattern and soulful vibes, and last but not least is "Come Together".
Review: Oxford-based liquid producer SoulTec has had a decent 18 months. Featured by Fabric with a Bukem Presents mix, he's released a staggering number of solid releases on Focuz, Sheer Velocity and ThinkDeep. Now with his latest EP on Focuz he's hoping to crack the scene for good, and with tunes this solid there's no doubt he will. From the soaring, melancholic vibes of "Lead The Way" to moody head-nodder "Blues City", SoulTec's style and panache pours through each track. Intelligent liquid is where it's at right now, and this man is on top of the game.
Review: Celebrating half a decade in the game, MSdoS's Liquid Drops gets reflective and pours back over the last year of sounds, selecting soaking soulful highlights. There have been many... 2016 was the label's most prolific year with groove upon groove every month. Highlights include the daft samplecraft and subtle gully bass squidges on Clart & MSdoS's "Disco Inferno", the dusty jazz finesse of "Morning Vibes", the overwhelming bass sensation of NCamargo & Ghibli's "Astral Drift". And that's just the tip of the freshness fountain.
