Review: Taking the ghosts of disco's past and dragging them, kicking and screaming, onto modern day funky house dancefloors and plying them with heavy filters and compressed loops is the name of Soultronic's game. Here on the Can You Dig It EP, they play their game efficiently with vintage melodic disco samples haunting the contemporary thump and fizz of sizzling Euro-house gems "You & I" and "Dance & Shake". Meanwhile the title track opts for deep and seductive chill-house. Simply made for summer!
Review: After listening to the Groove Unlimited EP, you could be forgiven for thinking it was late 90s Paris all over again. That's no bad thing as the French touch scene was pretty damn hot. Here Soultronic deliver two cuts - the title track and "Wanna Get Down", both of which capture that heavily looped and filtered tingly retro disco house vibe perfectly. Good old KS French also steps in with a slightly punchier version of the latter too. What's not to love?
Review: Germany's Soultronic has always delivered unique, smooth-but-raw productions and the Soul On Fire EP is no different. Over three expertly tweaked edits we get the '80s digi-soul referencing dream-beat of "I Want You", the French touch thump of the joyous "Soul On Fire" and the disco mayhem of "I Learned The Hard Way".
