Review: Glitterbox resident Dr Packer is a leading light of the contemporary disco scene, while Dave Lee was arguably THE key architect of the whole post-house disco phenomenon in the first place. So when the former helms a compilation on the latter's label, you'd expect great things, and suffice to say you're very unlikely to be disappointed. Hell, for this writer the deep n' sultry JN Revival Mix of early 90s classic 'Do What You Feel' is worth the price of admission on its own, but with Packer's own remixes of label favourites making up over a third of the tracklist, the collection as a whole is pretty much unmissable.

Review: With 15 tracks to choose from, this is a package that offers great value for money and much useful ammunition for DJs playing at the deep tech/minimal end of the spectrum. Sasse, Satoshi Fumi & Hiroshi Watanabe and Spiritcatcher all feature, but generally the emphasis is on more up-and-coming producers, with tracks ranging from the deep, atmospheric throb of ORDA's opening salvo 'More Over' to the string-drenched, glitchy prog of Fumi & Watanabe's 'Time Lapse', via the smooth deep house of Sasse's 'Eagle Eyes' and the Italo nouveau of Alessio Pagliaroli's 'Distractions', not to mention something of a curveball in the form of Nick Chacona's shimmering, female-vocalled disco-pop closer 'Fear'.

Review: With the 2016 Ibiza summer season in full swing, Dave 'Joey Negro' Lee has gathered together a bumper collection of label tracks that are currently doing the business on the White Isle. There are few surprises amongst the 28 selections - think swinging piano-house, soulful grooves, sun-kissed broken beat, contemporary disco reworks and synth-heavy boogie-house - but the quality threshold remains remarkably high throughout. Highlights include Lee's glistening 2016 re-rub of his vintage Doug Willis anthem "Spread Love", a deliciously loose and synth-laden Fouk rework of The Sunburst Band, the bad-ass boogie business of Spirit Catcher's "Rendez-Vous", and a killer 1995 rework of Fonda Rae's "Over Like A Fat Rat" from U.S house legend Victor Simonelli.

Review: Marc Romboy's esteemed tech house imprint has reached its 77th release? You bet! And it goes out all guns blazing this time around with a massive compilation with some great tracks, new and old, by the likes of Robert Babicz, Guy Mantzur, Wehbba and Stephan Bodzin. There are some pretty kick ass remixes on offer too by the likes of Adam Port, Adriatique, Nick Curly and Petar Dundov. Highlights? Review: Ooh la la! Those saucy Frenchies can't help injecting their disco with a bit of funky fornication. Think back to the '70s and Emmanuelle and all that Moog-drenched soft Euro porn, it's the kind of thing Sebastian Tellier has been digging for years. Here's some more Gallic explorations of this vintage world where handlebar moustaches and lipglossed lips (amongst other things) collide. Review: Belgian duo Spirit Catcher have been producing uber-slick, disco-tinged electro-house/proto nu-disco for almost ten years. However, their sound can maybe veer towards being a bit too tasteful, a bit dry, so teaming up with pastel clad 80s enthusiasts Mullet has awoken a playful sense of fun in their style. "Final Call" is an electro-boogie anthem featuring the cheeky vocals of Mr Renard and "Never Give Up" sees the pair embark on a delicious analogue synth-funk mission. Label boss Casio Social Club remixes the lead track in a Mylo stylee but it's Tad Wily's deep n spacey odyssey that's really floating our yacht.

Review: Belgian duo Spirit Catcher seem to have been forgotten a bit in the last few years, despite releasing music that's far superior to most nu-disco and boogie-flavoured deep house. In case you'd forgotten, their bright, warm, synth-heavy style - electrofunk goes deep house, if you will - pre-dates the nu-disco explosion. Here they pop up on Dave Lee's Z Records imprint with a trio of cuts that utilize grooves from underground synth-funk classics. The resultant tracks are every bit as fun and well-produced as you'd expect, with the breezy "Rendez Vous" and '80s soul-goes-Tiger & Woods flex of "Absolute Drop" just edging out the BB&Q-sampling "Street Skills".

Review: Since setting their stall out in 2006, the Rebirth label has tried to reflect changing tastes, mixing up their releases accordingly. This expansive compilation showcases a selection of their disco-tinged releases and remixes, casually moving between dubbed-out nu-disco, revivalist fare and disco-leaning house. There's plenty for disco diggers to enjoy, from he spacey, low-end throb of Mock & Toof's remix of Nufrequency and Faze Action's bouncing synth-disco re-cut of Stretch Silvester, to a vintage, synth-laden collaboration between Spirit Catcher and Ilija Rudman. There's also an early, pre-hype remix from Tensnake and a typically adventurous Dr Dunks outing from Eric Duncan.
