Review: Ghetto Dub Recordings have a long history of putting out music that takes no prisoners on the dancefloor and, whilst we're still clubless, this superb breaks-focused various artists compilation is sure to get your gun fingers raised at home. 'Feel' is the most interesting of the bunch, with an almost grime like approach to its steppy percussion and structured drum claps that reminds us of Diemantle. 'Nastya' is the other highlight, with a piercingly choppy arrangement that sees jabbing stabs tumble over on another in their haste to mess you around, all tied together with a massive reece bass. Oh yes.

Review: The Format Music crew have brought us one last gem it would seem, before the year rounds to a close and we leap into 2021. This is definitely no throwaway however as SR & Xeropoint join forces across two fabulous remix creations, kicking off with Ikon-B's jungle infused, high energy rethink of SR's 'Bully Man', combining super intricate drum arrangements with eerie pad textures and vibrant bass expressions with fantastic results. On the flip, SR gives Xeropoint's 'Get Better' a chunky overhaul, combining hard hitting basslines with fluttering atmospheric melodies and smoothened drum breaks. This is a must for the late night drivers!

Every single track slaps the dance from the stripped back drumfunk and demented mentasms of Substrate's "Throwback" to the mystic sitar twangs and heavy bass bangs of Euphonique's "Moksha" via ruded up Dread bass badness of the bossman's own "Lost In The Jungle". And that's not even the tippiest tip of this anthemic jungle iceberg. Don't dilly dally.

Review: Rub-a-dub-dub, a bunch of producers in the tub, none of them are clean because they're all making proper stinkers for Ghetto Dub. And these are a handful of examples. As the label unleashes the parts to some of its many key recent releases to four exciting talents. Man-of-the-moment Sikka takes the lead with a crucial tear-up of Vinyl Junkie & SR's "Peace Pipe" while Ly Da Buddah adds a whole new twist to Rachel EC's "All Rudeboys & Rudegirls" with an immense chainsaw bassline that cuts right through the mix. Elsewhere we get tremendously woozy and wonky with DJ Gaw's remix of Bill & Ed's "These Streets" before Dublic closes the show with an absolutely savage junglised slap-down of "Paradise Lost". Rerub? Rewind more like!

Review: Deep in the Jungle know how to do jungle. The clue is in the name, really, and they're proving it again with this huge compilation of 40 huge jungle anthems from some of the best rising stars of the breaksy side of the scene. RMS, SL8R and DJ Hybrid all make an appearance, as do Kumarachi, Veak, Schematic and Epicentre. This is a very strong roster and its reflected in the tunes, with Schematic and RMS teaming up on 'Take It' to combine roughshod, vibrant breaks and moody atmospherics in glorious fashion. Check this one.

"Marble Madness" is an all-out amen attack that refuses to quit before "Armageddon" reveals deeper layers with its spaced out breaks and dark funk twists. Review: Nothing says happy new year better than a 33-track jungle package. Ripping into the year in the same spirit they shredded 2016 with, DITJ have delivered something serious special here as some of modern jungle's finest creative minds: the never-failing DJ Hybrid slams the hammer down with the enormous VIP of "What Else", RMS continues his rich vein of form with some dagger-like samplecraft on the dancehall scorching "Burning Up", Section conjures up the spirit of Raindance past with some crafty drum-dicing "Black Magic" while Evade will turn you inside out on his trippy-assed amen omen "Reverse"... And that's just four of over thirty moments. Trust... We can't stress how massive this is.

Review: We're not sure what his initials actually stands for but Serious Rave is a high contender. Proof? These heritage-rooted 140-60 BPM breakbeat workouts. "MC DJ" bumps and flexes with an array of recognisable samples and cool drops into half tempo grooves. "Tremor" is straight out of 92 with its well-crafted drums and rush-riddled pads. "Winged Sapphire" strips things back on an Omni Trio vibe, all snares and sharps teeth snapping louder and louder as the track develops. Finally, we hit "Vampire", a blood-sucking slower cut with a bassline so crude and slimy you can almost see it falling out of the speakers.

Review: Usually spotted alongside his compadre in grime, long standing 36 Hertz solider SR goes it alone with two disgusting slabs of industrial strength modern day junglism. "Drop It" is all about the nasty with its well-known Meat Beat Manifesto sample and twisted drumcraft. "Robo Story", meanwhile, is an off-beat romp into experimental tech fusions where the humanised basses touch places that they're really supposed to and the wound up tape FX sounds like people laughing about you behind your back. Hey, perhaps they are?

Review: It's about time SR and Digbee got a little more attention and these remixes are going to be the nudge that does it. Kicking off with a stunning vintage-style VIP of "Jog On", breaks take over for a rapidfire, under the radar dancefloor destroyer. Made for pirate radio, if this came out 25 years ago we wouldn't be surprised. Next up, DJ Randall's tough, rough n ready remix of "Nostromo" brings out the big guns with deep tribal sounds adding extra tension. Callide's remix of "Supersonic" brings a touch of mainstream magic to proceedings and then DJ Vapour drags it all back to the good old ravey days of 93-95 with "Back To Basics". Mental.

Review: Jungle tinged icy roller "I Man" gets the beats flowing straight from the off, with industrial stepping rhythms and growling bass. Not a combo to keep to expectations though, SR & Digbee switch it up on second track "Jog On" to build a junglistic dub insta-classic with plenty of sweltering ragga vibes and raw sampling. Changing styles once again with "Wanted", old school Amen vibes play a big part in this breakbeat-infused roller with a huge dubby breakdown fit for any headline act. "You're No Beggar" finishes up this four track exploration of the drum and bass spectrum, with tight Amen lead and old school samples making way for crisp synths and rumbling bass. Too diverse, a must buy.
