Review: Next up from the Lost City Archives crew, a fiery combination of grime-influenced garage ideas, with the sounds of both Main Phase & Stones Taro landing for a very tasty display. We open up with 'Know We', a melting pot of nostalgic patois vocal overlays, classic grimey string melodies and moody subs, setting the tone perfectly for Main Phase. On the flip to this, a slight switch up in proceedings as Stones Taros deploys a war-ready box of moody LFO drifts, choppy garage-style drum arrangements and catchy vocal samples, making up a vibrant B-side and closing off the PE in styles.

Review: Next up from Stones Taro, a dive into a much more UK-funky inspired pocket as NC4K hold a real party across this wicked new four tracker. We begin with the Raggamuffin mix of 'Got Funk', a drum-heavy twitch through pulsating synth drives and groove-inspiring rhythms, followed closely by the much heavier kick drum stomps and subtle breaksy chops of 'Non Sticky'. After the first two, it's clear that the energy levels are super high, with the scattered bass drones and skippy percussion of '5th Way' then continuing that theme, before the title track 'Stoned Camel gives us some more laid back energy for a floaty finale.

Review: The Peaky Beats team has been firing on all cylinders over the past few weeks, with this latest link up with Stones Taro showing just how much energy is being poured into the PBR imprint. We open up with 'Leeds 2 Kyoto', a chord-driven skip through choppy syncopated percussion and acidic basslines, with the more pad-focussed synth sweeps of 'Wind Power Ship' then providing some immediate contrast. After this, the breaks reign supreme as 'Karate Cat' unloads a jittering fusion of crunchy drum samples and moogy bass action, with 'Demon Dubs' then giving us a final, stripped back, LFO warbler, closing us off with a smash.

Review: Next up from the Cross Country crew, a spicy slice of new school garage-influenced breaks as the wonderful Stones Taro touches down with three enticing new warblers, perfect for the upcoming summer of raving. We begin with the bubbling bass bounces and glittering arpeggios of 'Anyway', a vibrant slink through choppy vocals and dizzying FX, followed by the more abstract drum arrangements and eerie backdrops of 'Shot Sonic'. From here, we move towards a close as the sweeping synthetic subs and gnarly rhythmic slices of 'Count Dubwise' bring us a sizzling final blow. Awesome work!

Review: What a fabulous box of treats we have on display here as we see numerous different garage heavyweights make their way back to Time Is Now for the fourth edition of their 'Time Is Now Allstars' collection. First up, Soul Mass Transit System touch down with their first of two appearances, welcoming Sage Introspekt along for the ride with a thumping roller named 'Sexy Thing', before Yemi delivers an unexpected jungle-driven twissup on 'Run Sound'. Next up, Soul Mass return, this time alongside the legendary Killa P for funk infused masterclass on 'Blocked', something very different indeed. From here, Daffy delivers a serious system weapon on the breaksy throws of 'Check 1', next to Groovy D's more old school influenced 'Don'tCareBoutMe'. Finally, Stones Taro unleashes a fabulous display of moogy magnificence on 'Rise Up', giving us one final touch of brilliance before closing off.

Review: It's always a good time when we explore a new Time Is Now drop, who continue their reign of pure power in 2022 with this fabulously vibrant 5-track collection from Stones Taro. Kicking off we launch with 'Integration', a low-ended warbler, focussing on moogy bass tones and popping percussive taps, followed by the acidic pulses and rave-like arpeggios of 'Straight Walk'. From here the shuffling shakers and throwback organ chord stabs of 'Watching You' waft into view, before the much more high energy moogy bass stabs of 'Super Hot Floor' leap around on top of seriously crunchy drum sounds for good measure. Finally, 'Dry Flower' gives us some smooth, chord driven textures to round off the EP, which definitely sits as one of Time Is Now's stronger drops so far this year.

Review: A hype new label well worth keeping tabs on is Lost City Archives that's so far released a trifecta of records from Jozef K, Coco Bryce and Ash Brown! Delivering a quality selection of garage, breaks and jungle for the label's forth release is Stones Taro - think Highball Records, Bellissima and Third Place - with some undeniable rave stabs and basslines of pure bliss in "Quiet". Minimal, stripped back and dubby-UKG crossovers make into "Champion Stone", with the highlight of the EP clearly the jungle bounce of "Mint" - quality. And get your bonus cut outta "Clockwork Dub" that rounds a mighty fine and contemporary selection of well informed and dubwise UK sounds.

Review: Next up from the Dansu Discs team, we see them unveil the second edition of their extremely popular 'Dansu For Mental Health' compilation, which sees them unleash eight fabulous bubblers. Focussing primarily on the deeper side of garage production, the project works perfectly, with a solid balance of influences etched throughout, from the dubwise delays of Dubrunner's 'Scattershot', to the subtle breakbeat additions of 'Irresponsible' from Bailey Ibbs. There are a number of highlights for us, with the nostalgic melodic plucks of 'Hold On' from Stones Taro leading the way, alongside the acidic bass pulsations of 'Jet Stream' from Nicolas Duque. Lovely stuff.

Review: How can you not just love the Strictly Flava catalogue. Every release just seems to exert vibrancy from start to finish, with this latest helping from Stones Taro doing exactly that. We begin with 'Sirens', a worthy title track, combining a fabulous use of minimalistic drum work with a subtle sub-press and gorgeous reverberations. Next, 'Whale Watcher' provides us with a fluttering switch up, pushing light chord progressions and crunchy snare leads to the front of the mix, before 'Space Ranger' lands us with the perfect outro, doused in skippy rhythmic alignments and booming sublines below. What less would you expect from the Strictly Flava team though?
