Review: Nick The Lot on a chill flex? Don't worry, he's just setting us up for a rouse where we think he's chilling but he's actually going to rob us blind. His weapon of choice? The bassline of course; 'Chill Pill' is like a cat of nine tails due to its manic switchy nature, 'F Bomb' is pure barking smut like you'd expect, 'Bad Gyal' is a pure honey trap of filth while 'Remote Controlled Missiles' is essentially a bassline electric chair. Wrapping up we have 'Another Time' where the bassline will suffocate you with its warped trippiness and 'Sleeping Giant' while just hurtle you to another dimension. Whichever way it goes, Nick The Lot is gonna hit you hard, even when he's chilling.

'Ghost Town' sets the scene with its high voltage textures and classic cockney vocal sample before things get a lot more pranged out with the subverted rave twist-out 'Illusions'. Looking for something harsher and more unforgiving? 'Tip Toe' is the savage stepper for you while 'Trigga Fingers' takes a classic sample and drags it through the murkiest low end swamps imaginable. Deliciously toxic.

Review: Sweet sweet murderation! San Diego's Sub Killaz returns once again to Serial Killaz and, as always, he's packing some ridiculous heat. Flexing right across the spectrum, from the opening snarls and growls of 'Hacksaw' to the closing piano trembles and high voltage sizzle of the title track 'Wake The Beast'. In between we're treated to two deadly collabos... Gum B gets his freak on with the trippy wubs of 'Psycho' while Konduit joins the party on the croaking funk up 'Train Track'. Beastly business.

Review: To celebrate the marking of their 100th official release, the New York-based masters of Digital Terror make their return with a system-slamming compilation box, exploring the full spectrum of new school drums. The project features 16 outstanding originals, ranging from the limb-twitching synth punches of 'Make Sure' from Stompz and lethal reese work of Sano's 'Blow Up', through to the metallic shreds of Spaow's 'Warning' VIP mix and Taxman's gut-busting return on 'So Good'. The team have assembled a collection of heavyweights for this latest outing, with the grinding bass curls of 'Heavy & Bad' from Harley D & the euphoria-inducing delights of Jayline & General D's 'Keep Moving' being our immediate standouts. Review: There's a strong stench of murderation in the air as Sub Killaz crash land on Serial Killaz with four utterly savage jams. 'Out For Blood' brings us all up to speed on the American duo's visceral vibe as they twist up a funky horn sample with some horrendously grotty basses. Elsewhere 'Bad Ass MF' goes all deep and subby, 'Tryhard' is all slams, blams and badass harmonics while 'In The Night' finishes on a 23rd century jazz flex as a vocal purrs and slurs between the weird bassline textures. Heavy.

Review: Fatman D's Biological crew deliver some serious sledgehammer goods once again. Linking up from US to UK, San Diego to South London, Sub Killaz and Profile unite for four twisted dancefloor cuts. 'Dubplate Player' kicks off with a full strength bassline that wouldn't have gone amiss around the late 2000s when Hazard first started showing us who was boss. Elsewhere we have the stripped-back and snake-like 'Duppy' and the mischievous bongo-shaking funk-up 'Run It' before closing on a freaky VIP of their 2019 link up 'Rebel Boy'. Slamming stuff from start to finish; players gotta play.

Review: US donnies Sub Killaz go straight for the jugular with this savage 420-flavoured collection on Digital Terror. 'Rollin Stoned' takes a classic vocal sample and big string clip and create a moment of sheer euphoria before flipping things into the spikiest bassline the duo have ever whipped up. Elsewhere 'Twist Em Up' is a well-oiled filth locomotive, 'Pre-Roll' crushes with mind-meltingly slapping snares and a confident air of preparation while 'Status' seals the deal on more of a stripped back steppy UK flavour with plenty of subs. Roll up, roll up.

Review: Invicta Audio are doing us all a massive solid with this release, simply because compilations featuring incredible artists are just the best and the more music we get towards our ear drums the better. The Echo LP is a jump up inflected, minimalistic release that doesn't take many prisoners. 'Bad Bitch' by Harley D, featuring Scotty, is a perfect example of this, as his vocals lead you in with a distinctive tone before a broken drop emanates with some serious force, subterranean wobbles abound and it's an all-round moody listen. The rest of the LP is just as strong - big up the whole team.

Review: Digital Terror have had a sick last twelve months and this VA shows off some of their best cuts from the year, featuring acts like Jayline, Dutta, SL8r and more. Those latter two collab in serious style on 'The Pain', which cuts down into the range with fire and fury, angled sharp basses knifing through the frequencies with the grace and decorum of an elephant in heat. Jack The Ripper lands with supreme heaviness on 'Direction Course', Spaow brings the old-school vibes on 'Gallopo' and the collaboration of the album comes from the dream team of Jayline, Bou, Dutta and MC Dino who land with aplomb on 'Pico Skank'. Seminal.

Review: Digital Terror don't tend to put out music that's weak, thin or otherwise not suitable for the dancefloor. Sub Killaz & Replicant's Gun Powder EP is a testament to that, all four cuts do some serious damage and the release overall is certainly on the sharper end of the spectrum. 'Losing You' is the best of the bunch and it's got a rough, Souped Up edge that injects a satisfying level of oomph into the arrangement. 'The Grid' is a close second and its incredibly unique concoction of swirling basses and gargling pulsars adds a wicked futuristic element. Top EP from the Digital Terror crew.

Review: Have US jump-up duo Sub Killaz just dropped an album in disguise? Last week they gave us the feisty six-track "Ghetto Blaster" EP, now they're dropped another seismic sixer in the form of "Block Party". Just as forthright and banger-laden as the previous, highlights include the grizzly high end frequencies of "Pussycat", the much deeper steppy clangs and bangs of "Dis" and those sleazy west coast style synth leads on "Culture". Closing with the pure grit and savagery of "Rewind Mi Selecta", whether this is an album or just a massive bundle of tracks dropped on us over the space of a week we're not sure but we've loved this experience. Killaz by name...

Review: Liondub International have a bit of a reputation for spewing out some of the most venomous beats in the business and their talent for pushing some of the best unknown artists on the jump-up spectrum is undeniable. Sub Killaz are holding up that standard and they're doing it in style, something clear right from the start of this EP. 'Hands Up' reels you in with heavy, pounding introduction and its inch-perfect drums are ideally suited for the twisting, gargling bassline that pops up around the corner. The other five tracks are all equally as pernicious and they make this one an EP to watch for sure.
