Review: The second RSPX compilation picks up where the first volume left off, with a focus on crafty house and techno jams. This aesthetic is at the heart of the raw, jacking groove of Radio Slave's "F__k Em" and "This Is Our Groove" a hypnotic, minimal house workout from Rekids regular Confidential Recipe and Lady Tazz. It's also audible on the compilation's techno contributions: Slam's "Beat Control" sees the Soma duo infuse a looped groove with insistent, pitch-bent vocal samples and V111's "East Sex Rave" is a rousing, chord heavy affair. Meanwhile, Markus Suckut's "Flux" takes inspiration from Octave One's primal funk to bring the compilation to a mesmerising climax.

Review: Ben Sims' label celebrates twenty years in business with this split release from Mella Dee and the Subradeon duo. Dee kick-starts the release with the chord-heavy groove of "01302". The "999" mix of the track sees the Warehouse boss drop a frazzled chord build and a rolling, steely rhythm, punctuated by one-note piano drops. The 'OG mix' is deeper and more stripped back, with Dee focusing on the hypnotic chords, looped and underpinned by a solid rhythm. Things take a somewhat darker turn on Subradeon's "A New Sun Is Rising", where brooding organ riffs and ominous vocals are combined over a looped groove, while "The Light" is a leaner iteration of this sound.

Review: Subradeon have already released on DJ 3000's Motech, but Motown is sure to garner them a lot of attention. It marks the culmination of the Italian duo's decade-long immersion in electronic music and sees them deliver an effortlessly executed EP. The 'Part 1' of the title track is a peak-time, dramatic banger, led by swirling, atmospheric synths and underpinned by resonating kicks. 'Part 2' sees the duo tease out a very different sound; led by more melodic keys and futuristic synth stabs, it draws on the heritage of early Detroit techno for inspiration. "The Law is Spiritual" is also musical, but it is led by a rumbling bass and its piano lines are accompanied by preacher man-style vocal samples. Last but certainly not least on this excellent EP is the uplifting Chicago house of "We Will Still Resist".
