Review: Previously a pet project for owners Raiz and Subversive, the VRV label now welcomes a heavyweight remix group into the fold. First up is Voiski, who is best known for his releases on Ron Morelli's L.I.E.S as well as Delsin and Dekmantel. He underpins Subversive's "Chainbreaker" with a solid kick and allows the churning chords to spiral to a blissed out climax. Next up is the turn of Santiago Salazar. The US producer's background is intertwined with that of the VRV crew - Raiz previously released on his Historia Y Violencia label - and he delivers a deep, shimmering take on "Domestique" that still contains a menacing undercurrent. The final remixer is a surprising one, with the label tapping US veteran DJ Hyperactive to rework "Telomere", but his stripped back, bleep-heavy analogue workout shows that his sound remains relevant.
