Review: Two legends go toe-to-toe in the studio right here on Natty Dub: new Bristol resident K Jah and Brizzle native (and stone cold west country pioneer) Suv on 'Bubble Soap' and 'Lavish'. Both men renowned for their love of the craft, these cut don't disappoint; the former is a real pavement pounder of a track with its steamroller kicks and flabby funk while the latter takes us on dreamy sway with pure Bristol class. Something for all heads. This is a powerful release.

Review: Time for some unadulterated, uncut wobbly Bristol D&B direct from one of the most authorised Avon sources - OG Full Cyclist Suv and his Ramp Up label. First up comes Slix who, fresh from his adventures on the likes of Train and Twist, lays down 'Brighter Dayz' complete with a bassline so flabby it would make D*Minds blush. Not to be outdone, Ramp Up daddy Jaxx brings up the rear with 'Darker Dayz', a more percussive take that's full of Stokes Croft grunt. Loaded with a remix for a good variation, this is heavy enough to have you saying 'Oh my dayz' for at least eight and a half months. Maybe longer.

Review: The Train Recordings team have done a very good job with this latest compilation collection, welcoming 25 pulsating originals to the table across a wide range of artists. The range of production talents involved is pretty outstanding, with the likes of Ceph, Jaxx, Phantom Warrior, Insize Dub, Top Dolla and many more all providing welcome additions to the tracklisting. For us, there are a couple of immediate stand outs, from the industrial sounding drum designs and breathy percussive blows of 'Time To Go' from Spektral, to the sub-busting synth sizzles of Ickleman's 'Open The Hatch' and of course, the spooky organ leads of Dub General's 'World Of Confusion' to match. A very full collection indeed.

Review: Collaborative bubbly Bristol flavours ramping upside your senses! First up come newcomer Ruko and veteran Aries with the bulbous mid 90s flavoured bassline funk on 'Black Cherry', all Dope Dragon vibes with plenty of movement and freedom off-grid. Dr Meaker and Suv follow suit with something a little more early/mid 2000s - gruff, diesel powered riffy grit a la D*Minds or Twisted Individual. Bad to the bone.

Review: Jaxx powers up his gully roller steam engine for the latest volume in his label's Off The Rails series and the results are off the scale. 14 tracks of deep, forthright rollage from a broad selection of respect talents ranging from certified OGs such as Suv to established dons such as Cabin Fever and Verdikt to bright young upstarts like K-Y and Zere, the collection is one of the best Train wrecks so far. Highlights include the tonal chaos of Zere's "Loophole", Suv's peaceful party piece "Instead Of War" and Warhead's brittle bass lash out "Static" but to be honest the entire collection needs your attention. Full steam ahead.

Review: Natty Dub welcome the return of the Bristol G and founding Full Cyclist Suv. Last spotted damaging the label with badness two years ago, he returns with his sparring partner Joe Peng on two more sterling workouts. "Bong Didly" rattles with a beautifully wonky vibe that's almost techno in its insistency and seeming simplicity. "Plastik Sea" grabs us hook, line and stinker with its rattled melodic percussion, belching bass and classic dubby FX. Minimal ingredients, maximum flavour; Suv will forever know what time it is.

Review: London label Natty Dub Recordings have become trusted torchbearers for all things junglist over the past three years or so of operation, and their latest offering is a fine example of just why. It sees two heavyweight collaborations, with Suv & Jaxx going toe to toe with Bigga Star and Spreda. Suv & Jaxx are first, riding a hefty line in drums and beats on "If You Know", with the junglist vibes and sampled vocals set deeper in the mix. "Aura" from Bigga Star and Spreda is all about that sub bass heft which will really light up any decent soundsystem.
