Review: It's always clear to us when Italy's Swingrowers are back in the building. The funky club vibes circle in the air, and the funky touches are in plain view. Outsidein is their new LP and, much like the rest of the material they've released up until now, there is a clear sense that these dudes have all the characteristics of becoming some serious contenders for 'top of the class' in this space. Review: A lot has changed in the world of music since Freshly Squeezed dropped the first installment of their eponymous label compilation back in 2013. For one, the term electro-swing has become a household name with even the UK Eurovision entry adopting this musical style. Still, this label is where you get the real stuff and here we are treated to another 15 examples. Review: New to the roster of UK electro-swing label Freshly Squeezed Music, Sicilian band Swingrowers recently supported scene lynchpin Parov Stelar in London and now release this, their debut single. Lacking the tweeness of most electro-swing, this is slower, more punchy and all the better for it as Swingrowers mix vintage horns with modern vocals superbly.
