Review: For the latest edition of the now infamous Femme Culture compilation, HeForShe get involved with a seriously potent selection of futuristic techno and breaks infused flavour, featuring a vibrant roster of artistry indeed. The names involved include the likes of Bklava, Farsight, Talik, Moktar, Ell Murphy, LUXE, Jennifer Loveless and many more top quality names, all adding something colourful and sonically unique to this very well laden table. Our two highlights actually land directly after each other in the tracklisting, with the bubbling percussive pulses and constantly shifting backdrops of SYZ's 'Purify' leading the way, focussing on some seriously intricate rhythmic design. Breaka then follows this with the super bouncy textures of 'Who's This?', utilizing glittering arpeggios and bulbous bass pushes for a seriously fun time. Excellent work all around on this one, with all profits going straight to UN Women UK.

Review: Following on from the first edition last year, Shanti Celeste and Gramrcy's label drops another killer compilation. Airbnd and Buen Clima both drop high-octane, percussive techno, while on "Parallel Sync", Gramrcy slows the tempo down for a murky, layered groove. An ominous sub-bass ripples its way through Happa's dubbed out "Not Right Now", while ISAbella's "Ces Dream" is a slower, introspective piece and Knopha's "Grove Emulator" revolves around a complex rhythm and layered organic drums. Even the fast-paced tracks on Peach Pals are imbued with a subtlety one would not normally find on club techno, with the offbeat groove and punchy drums of Peach's "Moonlight" impressing.

Review: The Brotherhood Sound System released two heavy bass swelters back in 2014 and, since then, only another appearance was made in 2016, which leaves this new collaborative effort to give us a little view as to what they might be up to next. There's a whole bunch of new faxes here, and Callahan's "Kudzu" sets the scene nicely with a bit of minimalistic tribal drumming, which is followed by the glitchy, sparse two-steps of "Eastern Shores" by Silas & Snare. A:Tonal's "Perfect Imbalance" is the master-stroke on here, a fluttering wave of percussion and hissing sonics, but SYZ and LKY's beat thrashings should not go overlooked. In fact, this whole EP feels truly collaborative, linked-up by a recurrent pattern of thought which is sublimely executed from start to finish.
