Review: San Diego crew The Foundation take time to look back over the last few years of badness with their latest 'Revisited' volume. First up are the very tunes the label launched with exactly two years ago 'Be My Own' and the T-Kay remix. Both still slapping the wind out of us with their harmonic riffs and clash-ready beats, now is a perfect time to catch these if you slept on them. Next up come three new VIPs of label faves from the last few years. 'Borda Clash' retains its sweet reggae plucks, 'Babylon System' hits with big rolling drum energy while a VVVIP of 'Ear It Come' closes the show. (The extra Vs are for Veak is Very talented)

Review: Numa Crew's T-Kay returns to Liondub International with another precision collection of tear-ups and twist-outs, all done in his signature withheld and unhurried style. 'Jah Know Star' brings the swing with a warm and ready bassline, 'Jungle Simple' brings the wriggles with a bassline that wouldn't have gone amiss on Ram during the 'Nightflight' era while 'Reach Out Massive' hits with much more distorted bassline. Wrapping up the EP, 'Pull Up' lives up to its name with its epic synths and brilliantly stretchy late 90s Bristol bassline before 'Shakabass' closes the EP in a similar party-minded style. Review: It's safe to say that the Numa Recordings catalogue is a pretty spectacular thing to take a peek at, which has been added to by this fabulous new collection as they unveil the second edition of their 'Heartless Badboys' EP Series. We begin our four track journey with Lapo, who delivers a synth-heavy party starter in 'Automatic Soul', a crunchy number that finds itself switching perfectly between electronic leads and dubwise delays. Next, Leon P is joined by Ago for a piece of breaksy brilliance on 'Juju', followed by a serious upswing in tempo as T-Kay delivers some metallic mastery on 'Monarch'. Finally, things get a little techy as XL Mad unleashes 'Death Valley', a crunchy tech-inspired roller, giving us an excellent final touch.

Review: Numa Crew's T-Kay joins the ever-increasing talent troops on Liondub's Street Series for their all-guns-blazing 50th edition. In-keeping with the Street Series style, the remit is totally open and the vibe is set to max as we range through the darker shades of T-Kay's repertoire. The twisted bass tone of "Badboy Tune" and raw horn blasts of "Hold On" are particularly gnarly while tracks like "Ganjah" and "Acid Bath" play with space to create drama and nervy tension. Looking for a really trippy kick in the sarnies? Head for "Get Mad" and get dutty. Hold the phone.

Review: Well, what more can we say about the Nice Up! team at this point? Their roster and recent catalogue have both been incredible to watch, culminating in this, the sixth edition of their 'Nice Up The Session' compilation series. The line up is outstanding as we see Gentleman's Dub Club, Seanie T, Red Eye HiFi, XL Mad, Origin One and more return to the label for a showcase of some of their most popular releases this year. Two tracks we definitely would like to point out as interesting highlights for this one have to include 'Shards', a lethal future-bashment arrangement from Casement, alongside Champion Sound's explosive jungle rework of Turn Ya Lights On from Escape Roots & Dark Angel. Awesome!

Review: Killaz by name, killer by nature; Vital Elements and Tobie Scopes' continue to set the agenda as DJs, artists and as label owners. This third annual mix-up is certainly no exception as they plough through 59 tracks - many of which are brand new exclusives - to paint a picture of exactly where drum & bass is at right now. A thick smelly melting pot, everything is thrown into the mix: Upgrade's spine-trembling harmonics on "The Voice", ruded-out bassline badness from Voltage ("My DJ"), various jump-up hybrid creepers from Russian newcomer Ozma, brand new dark wobble lava from Serial Killaz themselves ("Rudebwoyz") the list goes on and on. This is a huge package and it comes with a superb mix too. Treat yourselves or defeat yourselves.

Review: What we have here is a fantastic selection and representation of the future of reggae music worldwide as the Nice Up! team unveil the fifth edition of 'Nice Up! The Session'. The release features some pretty top draw names, including the likes of Parly B, Gardna, Seanie T, Gappy Ranks and more. From the junglist flavours of Fleck's 'One Step At A Time' rethink, to the future dancehall delights of 'Bad Mi Bad' from XL Mad & Gappy Ranks, we witness the full breadth of reggae's development in 2019, with other favourites including DJ Madd's crispy rethink 'Chasing Dreams' from Rider Shafique & Precha, along with Folding City's experimental overhaul of 'My Yout' from 'Origin One & Irah'. Excellent stuff!

Review: Lickwood & Gunshot excel not just in the name of their label but in their ability to consistently bang out the big tracks, a trend that doesn't look like it will change any time soon and certainly not with this release by T-Kay. Certain Death is a certified wobbler, a roughshod piece of music that's not over the top yet still bangs really, really hard. We especially love 'Come Rudeboy', a subby roller that strolls out the whole way with grace and precision, it's made for the club but packs a satisfying edge that also proves itself to be quality home listening. Top release.

Review: In terms of legendary status for labels over on the jungle/jump-up side of the scene, it's pretty hard to beat Serial Killaz. Run by the duo of the same name, the imprint has arrived with the second instalment of their mixtape series and it's unsurprisingly good. Full of big tunes from guys like Serial Killaz themselves, Vital Elements and Upgrade, it's the latter of these guys that takes the cake with 'Steel Drum'. You've probably heard this one doing the rounds and it's actually already been released, but oh boy what a tune this is: a screaming, siren-lake mash of grating metallic synths and punching drums all come together to make an unstoppably good piece of music. Don't sleep on the rest of these tunes though, and a special mention goes to DJ Hybrid's 'Beatbox' - naught jungle vibes.

Review: Numa Crew's T-Kay returns to Nice Up! with two more energy sessions. "Bring The Bass" slaps and tickles with serious Bingo Beats 2005 era bassline funk, galvanised by some obese production chops. "Heard Somebwoy" digs a little deeper with its spacious tunnelling soundsystem primed bass drones and rolling underground feel. Two exceptional cuts with a mixdown that really bites into any mix you drop them. Okay T-Kay!

Review: Don't be misled by the title: this is no thrown-together 'greatest hits' package but rather a 40-track label showcase from DJ Hybrid's Audio Addict label, coming complete (if you opt to buy the whole album) with a fast and furious, 52-minute mixed version by Canada's RMS, aka Paul Currie. Tracks come a mixture of relatively new names (Martyn Nytram, Saffire Dubz, Confusious) and more established players (LJ High, Scartip and of course Hybrid himself), while stylistically the album touches on various different D&B sub-genres, but with the emphasis always firmly on cuts that are built to tear up the rave.

Review: Numa Crew's T-Kay makes his debut on the ever-perennial Nice Up imprint with two authentic slabs of jungle drum & bass. "Arrow" is a whirling breezy workout with its wry nod to the Goodlookin era on its pads while "The Almighty" is a modern day gully fest with a big 'ol groaning bass tone that's not dissimilar to the ones sported by the likes of Serum and Benny L. Heavy duty stuff. Nice up your life!
