Review: Following on from a seriously killer run in 2021, Wheel & Deal look to close out the year strong with another monstrous 4-track display, this time inviting the heavyweight collaborative flavours of MYTHM & Tappa inside. We begin with the title track 'Crooks', with MYTHM on solo duty to create a grizzly roller, packed with sizzling reesey energy and haunted atmospheric dithering to kick us off in style, followed by the first collaboration as Tappa arrives for the devastating synthetic stings of 'Clipz'. From here, MYTHM returns to solo activity for the more low-key bass growls and skippy drum injections of 'Like This', before Tappa arrives once again to close the EP out with the spacious arrangements and dungeon-like drum-runs of 'Demise', closing off another killer addition to the Wheel & Deal catalogue.

Review: The expectation of quality has never been higher than what Duploc are currently working with, as the 140 ambassadors deliver another tasty bite of spice, this time welcoming Tappa inside for a four track adventure. We begin with the dusty atmospheric sweeps and well chiseled rhythmic displays of 'The Motive', which uses chunky bass pulses to deliver something really special, before the eastern melodic plucks and raucous synth design of 'Tension' sends us somewhere completely different. It steps up a gear next as '666' then unleashes a gnarly, unpredictable set up drum & synth combos, again adding a whole new dimension to the journey, before landing on the more subtle melodic twists of 'No Heart' for a crunchy finale.

Review: Over the past few years, there haven't been many labels or dubstep-centric projects who have been able to keep as up to date with the scene as a whole then the legendary Duploc. They came together for this new compilation project with the title 'Identity Of Dubstep', exploring the best of their previous creations. There's no doubting this one's potent tracklisting, which features corkers from the archives with artists such as ENiGMA Dubz, Juss B, SBK, Surreal, Ternion sound, Dalek One & more providing fearsome additions. As this is a compilation to celebrate the full depth of the label's catalogue, we felt it important to highlight tracks that may slip past people, with our favourites including the grizzly LFO expressions of Sweepa's 'The Circle', alongside the wonky rhythms and downright dirty bass designs of Sam Cosmic's 'Stickin Ona Rock', which again explores the more raucous side of the dubstep spectrum. A fantastic anthology of dubstep flavour.
