Review: Another winner for the Dub Communication crew appears to have landed as they welcome back the wonderfully consistent Frenk Dublin, one of the leading lights in future dub music across the world right now. He is joined by the ever ready Tenor Youthman for 'Fire Just A Shot', a fabulous new single exploring the deeper ends of the dub music spectrum, focussing on heavy delays and moody basslines below for a seriously weighty new weapon. The project also comes complete with three official remixes, with Om Unit stepping up first for a shaker-induced rhythmic overhaul, packed to the brim with original flavour. Next, Smalltowndubz give the track an even spookier feel as we are greeted by squelching chords and spacey synth lines, before Masis unleashes a steady dub march of a remix, focussing on 4x4 drum struts and and even spacier backdrop. Tasty!
Review: Boy oh boy do we love to hear from Escape Roots, following his album earlier this year with this fantastic new single drop alongside the legendary Tenor Youthman. The original mix for this one is a sumptuous modernized reggae original, providing a futuristic digidub soundscape, over which Tenor is giving the licence to roam freely with his instantaneously recognizable vocal texture. From here we then dive into the remix creations as Somah firstly provides us with an aquatic warbler of an overhaul, focussing in on the more dubstep-end of the spectrum, followed by even more futuristic production sounds of Samson Sounds, who remixes the track into a sweeping viber, upping the tempo slightly as he goes.
Review: Blimey here's a super-collabo if ever we've seen one! Russian breaks queen Lady Waks teams up with two of the busiest and most prolific bass acts in the game; Deekline and Freestylers. And that's before we even get to the vocal titans causing absolute murderation with the bars. Instantly recognisable, juicy and party-primed, "Junglist Warrior" has every act's signature stamped all over it and will absolutely crush any dance its faced with. So will "Conquered" as it takes us on a slightly deeper flex with some delicious honeyed vocals warming us up for another bumping bassline hook. Heavy.
