Review: As two legendary names within the UK dance music scene in general, we were absolutely thrilled to see that Dusk & Blackdown had linked up with Keysound for a very tasty LP project entitled 'Rollage Live, Vol. 1'. The tracklisitng as ever, shows this duo's insane aptitude for electronic sound design, from the sweeping score of 'Keysound Sessions Anthem' and it's 'Feverish Weightless Mix', to the laser-lead switch ups of 'Parallels' and scattered rhythms of the 'Peng One Two' VIP. For us, there are two clear standouts, including 'Flex' with its unpredictable rhythmic manoeuvres and colourful synthesizer expansions, alongside the steadily rolling bass chugs of 'Anyone Test'.

Review: If we are talking about legendary grime producers within the UK, there are very few who rank higher than Terror Danjah, a name so cemented within the foundations of the UK underground that you would be hard pressed to find an era in which he hasn't remained extremely relevant to the culture. This latest project comes to us courtesy of Tru Thoughts, giving us a glimpse into just how important he is to grime's past present and future, from the twisted bass distortions of 'Nightmare' and hard hitting guitar stabs of 'Metal', to the more classic jumpy rhythms of 'Red Card Riddim' and instantly hard hitting arrangement of 'TBC' alongside Sir Spyro. With other highlights including the gnarly synth leads and dramatic strings of 'Last Days' and moogish warbles of 'Scene 1' alongside Nii-Teiko, this is definitely one for the long play! We at JunoDownload also want to wish Terror Danjah all the best and a speedy recovery during this difficult time

Review: UK grime maestro Terror Danjah has been smashing it ever since his first EPs started to emerge in the early 2000s, and we have to say that the man hasn't stopped rinsing it since. Among other big labels, he's been an integral part of London's Hyperdub unit, but the time has come to spill some truth on the respected Keysound label and here he is with "Juicy Patty", a vocal-led gunshot riddim that literally sounds as if it was recorded straight on the curbside; jacking, stop-start beats and a minimal arrangement make this a true London burner. There's an instrumental mix, too, for the DJs, but the first remix comes from Logos, who shreds the entire structure down and focusses heavily on the percussion, followed by Blackdown's louder, more menacing interpretation for the peak time hours.

Review: It's grime o'clock at Hyperdub HQ as Terror Danjah and Champion square-off with some midrange baiting badness as cheeky and rude as you would expect from two masters of the art. Danjah's "Glide" actually struts on a peppy 4/4 rhythm, but the synths keep things dutty whilst there are plenty of quirks stitched into the beat. Champion's template on "Bowser's Castle" is broader, with fulsome melodies and a dextrous switch between ring modulating bassline throw downs and glossy synth refrains. In both instances the collaborations between the two bring a more hectic style full of clattering percussion and urgent tempos, clearly fed on the energy of shared studio time.

Review: The ten year celebrations from Hyperdub continue apace here with the second of four planned label compilations arriving with the stated intention of casting "some sunshine" over the label's sometimes "dread filled reputation". Arriving on just one disc this time round as opposed to two, the fourteen tracks nevertheless features productions from DVA, Morgan Zarate, Cooly G, Jessy and Burial among other Hyperdub regulars, who are joined by the vocal talents of Dam-Funk, Fatima and others. Perhaps most exciting is the inclusion of an unreleased track from the defunct partnership of Dean Blunt & Inga Copeland; fans of the latter will also be intrigued by Kode9?s "Lies Lies", which features the talents of Inga in her new solo guise, copeland.
