Review: As two legendary names within the UK dance music scene in general, we were absolutely thrilled to see that Dusk & Blackdown had linked up with Keysound for a very tasty LP project entitled 'Rollage Live, Vol. 1'. The tracklisitng as ever, shows this duo's insane aptitude for electronic sound design, from the sweeping score of 'Keysound Sessions Anthem' and it's 'Feverish Weightless Mix', to the laser-lead switch ups of 'Parallels' and scattered rhythms of the 'Peng One Two' VIP. For us, there are two clear standouts, including 'Flex' with its unpredictable rhythmic manoeuvres and colourful synthesizer expansions, alongside the steadily rolling bass chugs of 'Anyone Test'.

Review: If we are talking about legendary grime producers within the UK, there are very few who rank higher than Terror Danjah, a name so cemented within the foundations of the UK underground that you would be hard pressed to find an era in which he hasn't remained extremely relevant to the culture. This latest project comes to us courtesy of Tru Thoughts, giving us a glimpse into just how important he is to grime's past present and future, from the twisted bass distortions of 'Nightmare' and hard hitting guitar stabs of 'Metal', to the more classic jumpy rhythms of 'Red Card Riddim' and instantly hard hitting arrangement of 'TBC' alongside Sir Spyro. With other highlights including the gnarly synth leads and dramatic strings of 'Last Days' and moogish warbles of 'Scene 1' alongside Nii-Teiko, this is definitely one for the long play! Review: Terror Danjah leads the way as grime specialists: Hardrive return to their release schedule with this insta-classic rally track by the name of 'Overproof'. It's been a little while since a selection of grime's finest teamed up on a shellout and Danjah provides the perfect backing here for the likes of Jammz, Gods Gift, Capo Lee, Trigga, Hitman Hyper and Irah to run riot, providing us with high energy and exciting bar structures. This is one that any grime selecta will want at the front of the bag for the foreseeable future.

Review: Danjah Danjah high voltage... Hardrive bossman is back and once again it's pure heat. Building the groove momentum from his "Infrared" EP, it's vibes from the off as he gets straight down to the funk business with a little co-lab hive mind heaviness from friends. "Control Alt Delete" is straight up bruk business with the currently avoidable Trends. Rocking a sparkled swing you could easily imagine in a Silkie set, it's a vibrant side to the grime OG. The same can be said for the soaking wet funk of "Shock After" with long-standing mate DOK. A cheeky reference to the roots with its head stuck right in the future, it's another game-changing slammer from man like Terror. Elsewhere "Nosedrive" takes us back down into the trenches with a swampy, low-swung bubbling bassline while "Patron XO Caf?" puts on the charm and takes us home for the warmest nightcap imaginable. Time to get wavey.

The Planets is a collection of everything this man does best, from loose, dubbed-out half-step to techy bass house and beyond! The heartical dub swings of "Earth" remind us of early era Skream, while other favourites from this treasure chest of UK duttiness include the bass-heavy, gunshot-leaning vibes of "Jupiter", "Neptune" and its fuzzy, almost hypnotic bundle of power-bass and, of course, the snare-heavy, cut-throat groove by the name of "Planet X". This is Terror Danjah at his very best, all up for the rewinds...

Review: Like a round of AK47 bullets and a waft of G13 haze, Terror Danjah steps through the place alongside Irah, and their pair have clearly got one single-minded objective on their agenda: VIBING. "Lyrical Weapon" sees the two artist's pair up on what feels like the right move for the both and, clearly, the perfect calibration of efforts from the Hardrive imprint; the title tune is a twisted barrage of machine-gun percussion, murky bass slewing, and vocal terrorism that really gives Mr Danjah his credentials as a purveyor or hard-ass, twisted beat making. Lucky for you, there's a cleaner edit for radio playback, and an instrumental if you wanna get creative on the decks. POW

Review: FACT: When Trigga and Dot Rotten come through they set the dance on fire. Terror's pretty lit in the beat department, too; rolling drums, staggered glitches, and freaky twists ensure the instrumental bangs as hard as the premiership MCs. Extinguish the scorching club fire with a deeper, sexier more rap-inspired cut with Rotten taking solo mic duties. Smouldering and sentiment-laden, this covers some serious ground.

Review: UK grime maestro Terror Danjah has been smashing it ever since his first EPs started to emerge in the early 2000s, and we have to say that the man hasn't stopped rinsing it since. Among other big labels, he's been an integral part of London's Hyperdub unit, but the time has come to spill some truth on the respected Keysound label and here he is with "Juicy Patty", a vocal-led gunshot riddim that literally sounds as if it was recorded straight on the curbside; jacking, stop-start beats and a minimal arrangement make this a true London burner. There's an instrumental mix, too, for the DJs, but the first remix comes from Logos, who shreds the entire structure down and focusses heavily on the percussion, followed by Blackdown's louder, more menacing interpretation for the peak time hours.

Review: Danjah dusts off the previously dormant Hardrive machine for the first release in several years. Two instrumentals deep, this is how it goes: "Mars" begins with creepy, shoulder-hunching eeriness before getting darker and darker with demonic, processed vocal elements. "Mile Gully", meanwhile, is all about the bassline that rises and stretches and slaps itself raw over a beat that shuffles rather than slices. Heavy.

Reading like a who's who in grime (Big Narstie, Skepta, Flowdan, Stormzy, Wiley, D Double E, Sir Spyro, Plastician, Kano, Giggs and loads more) each of the 40 tracks remind us (if we needed reminding) just how well grime has annotated and soundtracked the year. Review: The mighty and ever-talented Terror Danjah steps up with a two-track release on Kode 9's revered Hyperdub imprint. Bringing in the syrupy sweet vocal prowess of Meleka in "You Make Me Feel", vocals caress beats in a sumptuous swathe of sound in the title track. Strong R&B influences are paired with twinkling sweeps, crisp beats, clapping atmospherics and distinctly UK bass orientated soundscape. "Morph2" (feat. DOK) starts with a flurry of dramatic strings and incessant, pattering beats and develops into a low-slung booty rinse out reminiscent of Redlight with chopped up vocal element, pounding bass and squelchy SFX. Highly recommended.

Review: There are simply no punches being pulled on this new banger from Terror Danjah, where "Dark Crawler" finds him taking the tension of grimey strings to a new level. With a 70-strong orchestral swagger behind it, the panicked stabs take on a blockbuster scale which only serves to hype up Riko's rootsy flow to a nail-biting, cliffhanging, car-chasing showdown of a track. The production pyrotechnics are all in full effect to add to the sonic chaos, leaving "Fruit Punch" sounding positively minimal in comparison. Focusing on Danjah's quirkier side, there's all manner of dextrous programming going on as the fluid drums and loopy noises hop and skip around a pure bass sine.

Review: It's grime o'clock at Hyperdub HQ as Terror Danjah and Champion square-off with some midrange baiting badness as cheeky and rude as you would expect from two masters of the art. Danjah's "Glide" actually struts on a peppy 4/4 rhythm, but the synths keep things dutty whilst there are plenty of quirks stitched into the beat. Champion's template on "Bowser's Castle" is broader, with fulsome melodies and a dextrous switch between ring modulating bassline throw downs and glossy synth refrains. In both instances the collaborations between the two bring a more hectic style full of clattering percussion and urgent tempos, clearly fed on the energy of shared studio time.

Review: The ten year celebrations from Hyperdub continue apace here with the second of four planned label compilations arriving with the stated intention of casting "some sunshine" over the label's sometimes "dread filled reputation". Arriving on just one disc this time round as opposed to two, the fourteen tracks nevertheless features productions from DVA, Morgan Zarate, Cooly G, Jessy and Burial among other Hyperdub regulars, who are joined by the vocal talents of Dam-Funk, Fatima and others. Perhaps most exciting is the inclusion of an unreleased track from the defunct partnership of Dean Blunt & Inga Copeland; fans of the latter will also be intrigued by Kode9?s "Lies Lies", which features the talents of Inga in her new solo guise, copeland.

Review: One of the craftiest knob-twiddlers in grime steps up to Butterz once again with the bombastic pressure of "Let Me Be The One". The production is as razor-sharp as anything Danjah has turned his hands to in recent times, ripping between string-laden sweetness and ugly flurries of drums with dexterity. Ruby Lee Ryder's delivery meanwhile rides at odds with the madness underneath, striking a perfect note of tenderness and vulnerability amidst the madness erupting around her. With an instrumental on the flip for those afraid to embrace their soulful sides, this one looks likely to blow up.
