Review: The Anxious is a collaboration between UK techno veterans Mark EG and Chrissi, with Destiny of Change providing their debut on emerging label Planet Underground. If pumping, underground techno is your thing, then you've come to the right place. The title track resounds to steely riffs that are woven over a relentless, pumping groove - precisely the kind of peak time track needed for hard techno DJs. "Structured Surface" follows in a similar linear fashion, but it also takes its cues from 90s minimalism, with steel plated riffs unravelling over a pile-driving steely rhythm and a predatory bass. Change is a masterclass in tough dance floor techno.
