Review: The EP "It Never Ends" by the German producer The Exaltics has just landed on the Rotterdam label Repetitive Rhythm Research, and it's making waves for all the right reasons. Known for their solid reputation in delivering techno that's both robust and intellectually engaging, The Exaltics, following Frequency's impressive release, step into the spotlight, transforming their unique electro style into a powerful 4/4 framework that's bound to set dance floors on fire. "It Never Ends" is a perfect example of The Exaltics' signature sound, full of energy, with a driving beat and pulsating synths. The vocals are distorted and add to the overall intensity of the track. "Hammerheads From Outta Space" is even more intense, with a faster tempo and gritty lead elements. "Corroded" is a more atmospheric track, with a slower tempo and a more introspective feel. To close it, "Dumb" is a return to the dancefloor, with a driving beat and infectious melody.

Review: Sonic Transmutations serves as a sonic odyssey commemorating the remarkable three-decade legacy of Clone Records. Celebrating its 31st year, echoing the Dutch national telephone code, and this 33-track mega-comp unites seasoned maestros with rising trailblazers, taking in a swathe of cuts from names like Aleksi Perala, DJ Sotofett and Dopplereffekt to John Heckle and his Head Front Panel project, Privacy, Steffi, Ryan James Ford and more. Dedicated at large to the electro genre, it's taken some three decades to bring this collection to life, standing as a testament to Clone's enduring musical legacy and unwavering commitment to exploring new sounds and structures. Extra tips include cuts from Legowelt, Keith Tucker's K1 project and Convextion's legendary E.R.P alias. Mega drop.

Review: The artwork for latest album by The Exaltics perfectly sums up the accompanying soundtrack's mood. Depicting an entrance to a new world at the fringes of uncharted territory, it is both ominous and uplifting. The bruising bass and Paris The Black Fu's vocal narrative on "Life On Other Planets" strikes a dark chord. "They're Coming From Everywhere" and "We Never Had A Chance" are built on lean rhythms and robotic steel percussion. But in contrast, there are also numerous esoteric pieces included. "The Long Goodbye" resounds to a purring bass and crystalline synths, while "We Would Do It" suggests that humanity's future may indeed lie on another planet.

Review: Utrecht based hedonists of the acid life 030303 searched the entire planet and its surroundings to bring you the fourth various artists compilation album on their humble label. They've got the ever impressive Splitradix with the neon-lit feels of "Navs 202", veterans The Exaltics with some overdriven acid snarl on "What If We Could", while Betonkunst is typically dusty and lo-fi on the moody synth wave of "Zelfkant" and Krampfhaft closes it out with the off-kilter slam of "Meanwhile At The Old Warehouse".

Review: Clone Records' Best Of 2020 may have finally seen the light of day at the end of 2021 on digital - but better late than never! From the old-school house of Masarima's "Freak Like U" (club mix), Frits Wentink doing his typically deep and dusty thing on "Double Man", and Dutch legend Alden Tyrell's Mr Fingers tribute "All We Need" (feat John Marks - '87 Fix), there's more experimental offerings featured too - like Aleksi Perala's mesmerising "NL-L56-19-0869".1 Elsewhere, CRISPR's deeply emotive acid epic "Dyad Symmetry" had us impressed, as did Animistic Beliefs remix of The Exaltics' "Another World Underneath" getting some dystopian electro bass in effect.

Review: Glasgow label Avoidant returns with another killer electro compilation. From the dystopian synths of
Three Faces Of Eve's "Wish You'd Leave" to the raw funk of DJ Godfather's "It's Only Detroit" and Versalife's "Shift Levels", Dark Planet covers the darker side of the electro sound with considerable style. It also delivers a series of surprises; nestled alongside contributions from scene stalwarts like The Exaltics are artists who wouldn't normally be seen in the electro field; these include Vril with the brooding, bass-heavy tones of "Orgon" and the spiky beats and layered samples of Lord of the Isles' "Approach & Identify".

Review: This collaboration between The Exaltics and Paris The Black Fu is supposedly 'a post apocalyptic electronic soundtrack'. Another way of looking at it is a collection of kicking electro cuts. The title track features Paris' moody vocals married to an angular rhythm, while on "10 0seco ndstil lmidn ight" a more visceral, raw take on peak time electro prevails. The relentless saw-tooth bass and eerie synths of "thre atmul tiplier" calls to mind the more extreme end of the Drexciya/Arpanet canon - Paris' vocals only add to this sensibility - while on the Lorenz.Orx remix of "10 0seco..." a straighter rhythm and drum pattern prevails and is sure to appeal to techno DJs.

Review: In the Exaltics we trust for uncompromising electro. This this time for Clone's dope ass West Coast Series the Jena-based producer arrives with a set of remixes to new or otherwise unheard productions that paves the way for Legowelt, D.I.E (Detroit in Effect) and Animal Ballistics remixes. The Exaltics lead track sends in a cruising, lowly lit number of shady atmospheres and patrolling, electro-gaming basslines. Legowelt's remix to Skyway Chase keeps it lo-fi and serious with sequences of acid constantly threaded through its entirety while melancholic underwater Drexciya vibes come from D.I.E's killer remix to "8000 Miles Deep". The Animalistic Beliefs duo out of Reottrdam opts for something a little more Dopplereffekt inspired with a throbbing, deep and dark number, "Another World Belief". Clone West Coast Series still keeping it real

Review: Following on from last year's Das Heise Experiment long player, Robert Witschakowski aka The Exaltics drops more futuristic electro. Tracks like "Fallen Star" and "Tunnel Chase" focus on gritty rhythms and splurging bass, as the German producer conjures up a truly dystopian soundtrack. Meanwhile, the steely groove of "Symbionts Came Through The Green Lights" and the ominous, breaking "Skyway Chase" push Drexciya's more militant tendencies forward. This underlying mood continues, albeit with a more understated approach, on tracks such as the menacing, bass-heavy "The Others" and the bleak synths and breathy vocals of "One" - but overall 2 Worlds is a master class in electronic menace.

Review: Under the guise of The Exaltics, veteran producer Robert Witschakowski has spent the last decade writing his own electro mythology. Like Drexciya before him, the German loves delivering concept EPs with titles that hint at imaginary dystopian movies that we'll never get to see. He's at it again on this pleasingly floor-friendly EP, which comes pressed onto an attractive, shaped picture disc. There's something undeniably cinematic about opener "0998.0989.12", a forthright and full-throttle space-chase through unchartered territories that sits somewhere between classic electro and Detroit techno. Elsewhere, he offers up a sliver of dark ambient before rounding things off with a thrillingly bouncy and rubbery slab of killer dancefloor electro.

Review: Artwork of the week goes to this Solar One 12", with the label enlisting Lowlands don Mehdi Rouchiche to work his Godspill magic on the collective talents of Helena Hauff, Perseus Traxx, The Exaltics, Drvg Cvltre and Ekman. Perseus Traxx's moustache is quite something! These artists join forces for the Signs Of Decay 12", a powerful collective statement on the desiccation some "hard and dirty acid tracks" can do to a dancefloor. Don't come here looking for any lofty concepts, this is just five of the best banging their boxes in the name of all that is grotty and lysergic. Fans of Hauff's Panzerkreuz material will be delighted with the demonic, red lining sounds of her contribution "Culmination Of Frustration."

Review: Since first surfacing under The Exaltics guise back in 2007, Robert Witschakowski has graced a stellar cast of labels including Bunker, Creme Organization, Panzerkreuz and Modal Analysis, and this year has seen him arise on the Clone West Coast series for a tryptich of Some Other Place releases and remix Marcel 'two tone' Fengler for Ostgut Ton. The addition of Dutch label Shipwrec to his ever bustling discography with this Twelve EP makes perfect sense within the context of the music it's released thus far, and this is a fine addition to anyone that considers themselves to be an Exaltics completist. Lead cut "The New Beginning" sounds like Gesloten Cirkel remixing "Deep Burnt", whilst "Coroded" fully lives up its title - both are complemented by a remix of "Downwards" from Bunker royalty Unit Moebius Anonymous.

Review: German producer Robert Witschakowski continues an impressive run of releases, and as Node shows, he's not too concerned about pushing the boundaries. The obvious proof of this is "Node 1", a slowed down abstract rhythm that emits hazy percussive belches and eventually leads to an atmospheric, synth-led denouement. "Node 2" sees Witschakowski pick up the pace and deliver a more typical, metallic 808-led workout. However, it's not electro by the books and his complex arranging, coupled with the track's eerie undercurrents, mean it stands out. Completing the package is Delta Funktionen's take on "Node 2", which sees the Dutch wunderkind fuse tough, dubby beats with the original's ghostly textures.

Review: Solar One Music founder Robert Witschakowski joining the Clone West Coast series for a triptych of releases as The Exaltics makes perfect sense in the context of his music and the labels he's previously featured on. The Jena-based producer has racked up a healthy discography of albums and 12? releases for a wide variety of underground labels including Bunker, Creme Organization, Panzerkreuz, Abstract Forms, Modal Analysis and Last Known Trajectory. The first six-track installment of the Some Other Place series finds The Exaltics in a more introspective mood than some of his recent dank squat party electro. Cuts such as "It Still Remains" and "Walking Through The Stratosphere" are filled with a sense of hope, though there is still plenty of dancefloor material here - see the delightfully bouncy "Places".

Review: Elec Pt1 becomes the latest collaborator in The Exaltics Meets series following prior introductions to Morphology and Gosub. For the uninitiated, Elec Pt1 was part of Bunker Records' second coming, originally '90s acid house label based out of the Hauge, said to have funded their earlier releases with "money made from selling LSD (silver surfers!)". German speakers will be able to decipher Elec Pt1's "Drei Chinesen Mit Dem Acidbass", a potential retrospective nod to Bunker's (now legendary) "acid planet" squat parties. A flabby kick, crushed hats and white noise sounding more like a baby robot tantrum than synthesis opens "The Party", before unexpected doo-doo-doo vocals become the tracks centrepiece. The Exaltics opens his side of the 12" with throbbing drums and hardedge acid in "The Midnight Connexion", which later gives way to uplifting chords. Acid and breakneck drum loops make up "Nichts Aber Auch Nichts" which also receives some euphoric synth treatment.

Putting them up alongside a new artist each time, this one is down to Shad T Scott aka Gosub and the result is four diverse and interesting tracks of progressive and psy. Exaltics offerings pack the most energy, especially on the shattering melodies of 'My Language'. While Gosub bring something totally different on the twisted vocal led 'Plug In'..
