Review: Bedrock takes one step back and three steps forward with this great remix package. Originally released back in 2013, the Japanese Popstars' collaboration with Green Velvet gets first reworked by Coyu. Underpinning Cajmere's vocals with tough drums and a pumping rhythm, the Suara boss delivers a big room re-rub. OC & Verde have done two versions - the pair's remix is an acid-soaked affair with the vocal sample on repeat, while their dub take strips out the vocal and puts a focus on the fusion of acid and eerie synths. The final remix comes from the The Japanese Popstars themselves, with a ravey take on the original.

Review: Had enough of Ibiza's pounding tribal house and party minimal sounds? Bedrock feels the same way. Or at least for the duration of this excellent compilation they do. Jon Digweed has used his A&R (and persuasive) powers to their fullest, commissioning ambient and down tempo pieces from artists more commonly associated with peak-time club bangers. King Unique and Charlie May contribute haunting, fragile ambient tracks; the Ibiza Summer Balearic remix of Jimmy Van M and AFFKT' "Dreams" featuring Luxor T comprises lazy beats and sun-kissed vocals, while best of all, the Japanese Popstars' "Out Of Nowhere (Reprise)" is a stunningly cinematic ambient trance piece.

Review: Rather swish and crisp tech house from the masters, this EP is a genuine genre-maker. With all the furore between producers and fans about the term "tech house", a lot of the tunes of this ilk have been left by the wayside. None of the tracks here could possibly be ignored. With nods to breakbeat and hard house in track two (which sees a deep, electro reshuffle come into play thanks to Sharooz's remix) and a techno-charged pounder courtesy of Coyu's remix of "Matter of Time", there's enough energy and masterful production on here to keep anyone going for months. Immaculate stuff.

Review: It sounds like the Northern Irish act has a hit on their hands thanks to a fiendishly simple but effective track. Sampling the vocal from MARRS "Pump Up The Volume" may seem a bit obvious, but the Popstars combine it with an infectious, wobbly bass and hoover riffs to create a track that sounds like electro house on robot steroids. If this all sounds too mainstream then fear not, as Digweed's label has commissioned some excellent remixes both of the title track and "Out of Nowhere". The Electric rescue versions of the title track are intricate, underground techno workouts, Marco Canal's remix of the same is deep, dubby and brooding, while the interpretation most likely to appeal to Bedrock fans is the Popstars' own irresistible, epic house make-over of "Out of Nowhere".
