Review: The last time we heard from Eugene Tambourine was way back in 2016, when he delivered the chugging, psychedelic and gently percussive North Satellite EP on Tummy Touch. Here he debuts a new project, the Lemko Unlimited Orchestra, via a an EP that makes extensive use of South American percussion sounds. 'Pathways' is a wonderfully colourful concoction rich in jangling piano riffs, squeezable analogue bass and improvised vocals that sits somewhere between downtempo loveliness and proto-house. Equally as inspired is 'K.G.E.T', a similarly constructed cut that re-purposes riffs and melodies from MFSB classic 'Kgee'. Like 'Pathways', it comes accompanied by a sparse, heavy and even more percussion-rich 'Version' that's arguably even more impactful than the original mix.
