It doesn't feel like nine years ago, but that's how much time has passed since Lee Cabrera gave us their horn-honkingly, piano-smashingly funky house bomb. Ever the savvy sonic businessmen, Cr2 have recruited Thomas Gold for this 2012 contemporary facelift and he's done a remarkably grand job. He's retained everything that made the tune the huge smash in the first place and simply added more of a swing and a bucket load more bottom end. If you haven't got the original - or indeed any of the cheeky reworks that have come and gone in the last decade - then this needs your attention.
We could dance in a warehouse, blowing a horn wearing nothing but oversized jeans and a ripped high vis vest over our bare sweating chest and we still wouldn't be as nostalgic as this track. This is classic rave from the piano's chord progression and drawn out strings, down to the clapping beat and echoing beeps. The subtlety sinister bassline hints at its modern day production. The shorter radio edit is on the flip. Sweet!
