Review: Having been out of action since 2014, Thomas Wood has now released two notable EPs within a week. Thos five-track outing on JD follows hot on the heels of the Phiction Maker EP on Foul & Sunk. It portrays Wood as a versatile and talented producer, as capable of making dusty instrumental hip-hop (see "The Right Way") and warm, musically rich nu-jazz (the delicious "New Love"), as rolling deep house ("Somebody's Dancer", "Back To My Home") and hazy, peak-time grooves (swinging opener "What We Need"). All five tracks come laden with neat musical touches, as well as immaculately programmed and produced beats.
