Review: Grown men of a certain age will be very confused by this new release from house heroes Todd Terry and DJ Spen, as they tackle '70s classic "Stone Fox Chase", better known as the theme to BBC music show The Old Grey Whistle Test. The famous harmonica riff is present and correct as is most of the original with just some subtle beefing up going on. Terry's own mix adds some seriously slammin' jack master beats to the equation though, whilst other highlights include Damond Ramsey's techy excursion and Mannoo's swampy beat-fest.

Review: NY legend and house pioneer Todd Terry powers through with a hot, new floor-filler on his Inhouse imprint. Terry is responsible for some of the most legendary cuts of the '90s and was chopping beats and samples before most of us were even born. "Hardhouse" is a straight-up house jacker packed with enough punch for a whole artillery of dancers and really takes us back to Terry's finest moments throughout his long career. Dusty beats, grizzled hi-hats, metallic snares and a whole load of funk. Unmissable.

Review: Here's a rather epic proposition: a 33-track collection from Toolroom that not only boasts 32 classic, little known and unheard remixes from the label's vaults, but also a CD-length bonus mix. With tracks seemingly taken from the entirety of the label's existence to date, there are plenty of forgotten gems - think remixes by D Ramirez, Funk D'Void, Full Intention, and Copywright - as well as inspired reworks from such contemporary heroes as Dusky (a suitably reverential rub of Cloud 9's 1993 US garage classic "Do You Want Me Baby"), Tensnake (a typically touchy-feely rework of Jake Island) and Doorly (a bouncy UK bass-house interpretation of Steve 'Silk' Hurley's "Jack Your Body").

Review: While he may be a stone-cold legend, much of Todd Terry's recent work has been a little disappointing, to say the least. It's great to report, then, that he's back to his mesmerising best on this surprise release for Clone Royal Oak. While the picturesque, funk-fuelled "Rock That" - this booming, disco-fuelled bottom-end, Balearic keys and warm horns - is impressive, it's lead cut "Tonight" that hits home hardest. Boasting swinging, loose-limbed house beats, bouncy analogue bass and some superb hip-house era stabs and vocal cuts, it feels like a long-lost late '80s Terry classic given a warehouse party makeover. It's certainly worth the admission price on its own.
