Review: The title track may come as a surprise to those who have followed Middleton throughout the years. Although he has flirted with many different sounds and styles over the years, he hasn't really dipped his toes in minimalism until now. Of course, this being Middleton, his approach is radically different to everyone else, as a heavy, timestretched bass soundtracks an insane frequency-shifting climax. "Hawke's Groove" sees the UK producer revert to his deep house type. Its bass is resonating and cloaked in an acidic undercurrent, while woozy chords bubble underneath the surface. But the most important aspect of this track is the fact that it's dedicated to the late, great Kenny Hawkes.
