Review: Fresh from his surprise comeback via an appearance on Bobby Donny's second multi-artist ACE series EP, former Red Ant Records regular Tom Paris returns to Steve Mensink's imprint with his first solo EP since the mid noughties. He begins in confident mood on 'Disco Serenade', cannily joining the dots between the huggable, loved-up warmth of classic deep house and the hard-wired late 20th century disco-house funkiness of vintage 'French Touch' productions. He explores deeper, darker, jazzier and more dub-flecked territory on the hypnotic and mind-altering 'Custodian Dub', while 'Apricorn (100% Floor Mix)' is a superior disco-house loop jam full of starry synth riffs and loopy bass.
